Up until Asus.

Onboard audio was poor in the early days. It is pretty good now.
I still have my soundblaster audigy and soundblaster x-fi.

Can't really use them now as it is for original PCI and drivers are a pain.

Need some help people, I have an issue with either my graphics card or my Psu can’t tell which it is. The computer suddenly turned off a few days ago while I was in excel and ever since will only post up to the Gpu tests at which point it stops.
Points to note:-
After a few days I went back to the computer to try turning it on and it failed to turn on, after a few attempts it came on briefly and as the water pump started it shut off and basically repeated this cycle.
I disconnected the pump and the system begins posting the same as before just up to gpu stage.

System specs:

Asus x99 deluxe mobo
Intel i7 5820k cpu
Nvidia gtx 1070 fe gpu
Seasonic 1250w xseries psu

Right now I want to obviously replace the offending part is anyone able to test my gpu in their computer or even lend me a gpu/psu to see what’s going on with mine.

Thanks

My reasoning for thinking is possibly the psu is that it does t seem to be able to handle any electrical load (gpu and pump) however the boards fault code is d6 with is tantamount to no gpu being installed in the pcie slot. This computer as run rock solid for 3 or so years now. With no changes to it recently just normal maintenance for the water loop etc

Can you give more details and more info on the components

What is cooling the 5820k
What case is the system housed in
How many fans. Etc.
Have you tried plugging the GPU into a different pcie slot

Gpu has been in each of the pcie slots to no avail.
It’s a water cooled custom loop system nothing special, cpu cooling wouldn’t be an issue in this as it’s before it would even begin to get warm. The reason I mentioned the water pump is due to the psu switching off each time it started. The water pump and the gpu would both be high load components.

Just making sure that the board itself wasn't running on the warmer side of things for three years. Board cooling depends on air flow around vrm and host controller heatsinks, something which is a bit lacking if water cooling is used.

I mean if you can hear the PSU protection being "triggered" that is your culprit.

I find it a bit strange that the GPU is triggering it though... For your particular GPU the idle power consumption is like 10w, which is small considering the PSU rating. I don't think it should have degraded so much over that time.

I'm assuming surge protector or UPS used since the components seem to be of a particular quality.

Forgot to mention trying to unload the board... Use the least amount of components to see if the system can get to the bios. Disconnect non core components: HDDs, SSDs, water cooling pump, USB devices that are not the keyboard, extra monitors, etc (this is only temporary and only for testing; only for 30 seconds or less.) Leave the cooling block on the CPU.

The main system water pump was triggering the protection. The gpu is just not passing post, either because it is genuinely dead or that the psu is unable to supply enough power to bring the gpu online perhaps through the 8 pin connector. I like the idea of trying to unload the psu there are a few hdd and case fans connected.

It also eliminates variables. There is this one video by Austin Evans where their system was giving a lot of trouble due to a HDMI cable that was shorting.
Disconnect non essential components just to check.

Put the water pump on a different source.

I had some problems like that, funny enough x99 with 5820k combo too.

Ended up being ram dying. But didn't figure it out. It would not post, but left down a few days it would reach log in then down.

Left it down fur a year, then out of the blue decided to switch on and install ram one by one, lo and behold it lived.

A year later another stick died.

The problem with manufacturers and marketers is that they sometimes change OEM suppliers, so review samples are different from actual retail samples. Sometimes there are changes mid model with no indication at all so use these tier lists with a grain of salt.

80 plus is also a standard created by the industry itself so they can sometimes abuse it for marketing purposes. (As in it is not an independent test)

All that said, from the list provided
I've used one model in tier 6, one model in tier 4, and two models in tier 2.

Loving these so far

First high end mouse I've tried was a gpro wireless a few months back...was amazed with how accurate it was for a wireless mouse...no latency and tbh I was expecting some sort of input lag cuz it wasn't tethered to the PC...

Saw the new craze of lightweight mice. so bought a glorious model O to see how I would've liked the whole honeycomb mouse thing. Did research and saw finalmouse mice were the best even tho they tend to be really overhyped and not worth the high price..managed to get these 2 at very good prices and not inflated price by 3rd party sellers...sold the model O and was keeping only 1 of these and selling the other but I like them so much I keeping them both.

It honestly looks a bit excessive; similar to lightweight sports cars... You seem to be paying more for less

Just asking
Have you looked at
Razer deathadder/viper
The cooler master clone mm710/711

Personally I have Logitech
M275 (daily)
M505 (backup)
M525 (laptop)
Anywhere MX (backup)

Other mice owned,
T400
M320
Mx600

U asked me what I used so far that impressed me..I told u...then u judge me? Lol...not here to be judged or lectured...next time don't ask someone what their preference is then come and shoot them down after and try to convince them that stuff u like are better. If u read over my post u would see I tried other top tier mice before and I settled on these 2...it's my preference...not ures...a Logitech gpro wireless being the first top tier mouse I bought and tried...doesn't mean that was the first mouse I've ever owned...it was just the first top tier one as I mentioned in my post. U like heavier mice...I like lightweight...to each their own buddy

Any of you ever tried a trackball then? You can never go back you know. I forgot how to use a mouse properly after years with my Kensington Expert. Has a learning curve, but it's easier on your wrist and elbow, much more precise, small finger movements for fast movements if you program it. I saw a video with Linus testing the new Logitech trackball MX Ergo for gaming and it held up. I'm not a gamer but it was the best ergonomic solution and it works.

Easy big man... That was an old top gear joke... Lol (or I was remembering an old top gear joke)

starts at 24:31

Also didn't try to convince you that other stuff is better. Just asked if you had a look at (insert mouse name here) and told you what I use. I don't see a lecture in my previous response.
I actually prefer cheaper mice (heavier is the side effect) :)
The last thing I have to say is that knowing user preferences and use case helps in understanding reviews/recommendations/statements (it gives context); I wanted some context to your first statement, "starting to rel appreciate nice mice ..."
e.g.
What does he consider nice?
what has he used so far?
How does he use his mice?
etc.
