Need some help Honda guys

Postby 0001 » January 8th, 2011, 8:21 pm

ok i hav a local 98 ek3 civic ....i went maracas sunday and while goin up i found that my car didnt want to switch gears at lower speeds. and there were only 2 people in the car (myself and a passenger)

the rpm was about 2.5 and at speeds 20-30

its a non cvt transmission and i heard that it might be a transmission sensor?

can you guys give me some help? and its not only maracas hill its every steep incline but on flat road it works good

I don't know but it could be a normal thing.

Was it happening before? or is it a new problem?

Have you tried giving it more gas and getting the RPM at 3?

yes it now started happening about 3 times before this

when i give it more gas it switches very quickly and then goes back in the previous gear (if it was in 3 it will switch fast to gear 2 then go in gear three without change in speed)
