Hazard and Indicator Light

Postby l200guy » August 28th, 2013, 3:42 pm

My indicator and hazard lights just stopped working in my L200. Anyone knows where the flasher unit in the l200 sportero is located? And where I can get the flasher unit to buy?

Called Mitsubishi and they didn't even seem to know what the flasher relay is! When they finally figured it out they didn't have it in stock.

Finally found the flasher unit. Located it behind the fuse box under the steering wheel. Not at all easy to access or repair. Thought it would have been a simple swap. Wrong! Any ideas where i could get one of these or even a full fuse box assembly for a l200? Not even diamond motors knows. Note the fried flasher unit in the photo.

See if it can be repaired.
Victor Whiby is the man who might be able to handle that.

I went through a similar issue with my B2500 recently. My flasher control unit, though quite big is NOTHING compared to that motherboard of yours! Like you, I was unable to source an OEM replacement. I tried a host of foreign used Mazda substitutes with no luck & ended up spending an absurd amount of money in vain. I ended up using a couple of $20.00 universal units (one for the hazard & one for the indicators)... the electrician charged me $40.00 and it took all of 30 minutes...

Who is your electrician. Mine was telling me that the universal units would not work because the signal coming for the turn stalk is different.

Ryan aka "Gouti" from Grande- you can't miss him, he's a mini man with a MASSIVE ras! Gouti was under the same impression initially concerning the universal units, but after much twiddling & tweaking, he found a way to get it to work...

The funny thing is, he replaced a five pin relay with two two pins, which leaves one wire unaccounted for (the wire for the hazard switch to light up when the park lights are on), yet it all works flawlessly- hazard park light & all!
