GDI Lancer Cutting off and Idle problems

Postby Mash Gyas » January 13th, 2014, 3:23 am

Hola ..ah hope dis story not too long eh but..... A friend of mine has a GDI Lancer ..head and block was changed couple months ago due to a stripped timing belt an she carried it by another mechanic in the haste to get it repaired asap. A while after it had some idle problems only to find out plus werent changed. I scanned it and O2 an Purge control solenoid valve came up so I told her those need to be replaced. She carried it back by de same QUACK and he changed the sensors and had the same problems which was cutting off at first start in morning and irregular idling.. So de QUACK say he change fuel pumps, plugs,MAF,an took out the throttle and cleaned it. To my knowledge I know you not suppose to touch the butterfly cuz it will affect the throttle's performance.. also Mr Quack only using one side of the solenoid valve am loop the other side so it sucking air and get it to idle and tellin her it better than before... SO I am asking for some expertise advise Please and thanks for some feed back as to what can cause this problem. My take on it is maybe carbon build up on intake system and EGR valve .. Mucho thanks for your replies

Check out the IACV. Could be faulty.
