Help: Samsung Smart HUB setup

Postby NorStar2K » December 27th, 2014, 1:23 am

I'm stuck at that point in the set-up where you're asked for your service provider for your set-top box (STB). FLOW isn't listed and it's indicated that I would lose certain STB functions as a result.

I also made the 'mistake' of upgrading the software from v.1108 to v.1112. Netflix and most of the pre-installed apps have disappeared.

Can anyone help me configure this? Can I undo the upgrade? How do I get back the lost apps?

Thanks.

https://www.roku.com/products/roku-3

seriously though, I don't think you can set up FLOW cable in the same way you can set up a foreign cable service on the TV to have the TV read the channel info etc.

If the TV smart hub can't read the channel listing from FLOW then you will have to do what most ppl do and plug the cable box into the TV via the composite RCA connectors (red, white and yellow) and switch to that input on the TV to watch cable. You will also have to use the cable box remote along with your TV remote.

You can buy a smart remote so you only use one remote, but that still wont make the Smart Hub be able to see the separate cable channels.

I think you can do a smart hub reset which reverts you to the factory settings; dunno if that will help with the software update issue. To me the whole "smart tv" concept is nice in theory, but the ones I've used, really suck in practice, and the novelty wore off for me in about a week or two. Right now my TV remote is in a drawer somewhere, and I mainly stick with the FLOW remote.

yup agreed

that's why i suggested a Roku 3. it is far faster than any smart TV and it has far more to offer including the usual Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon TV, CBS, ABC, CW etc
