The 2022 Trinidad and Tobago Great Race took place on Saturday with teams competing in 7 different classes:
-Cruiser Class 1, Cruiser Class 2,60 MPH,70 MPH,80 MPH,120 MPH and130 MPH.
Racers were greeted with relatively calm waters from the start at the Foreshore Trinidad all the way up to Maracas Bay, where it was described as a ‘Washing Machine’ from there to the finish at Store Bay, Tobago.
Although no official awards will be recognized for these two accolades this year, ‘Limitless’ was once again the first boat to Tobago and ‘Motul Monster’ arrived in the fastest time.
The TTPBA would like the public to recognise that the Great Race has no overall winner, it’s all about the various class battles for top honours.
‘Loco Trendsetter’ won the Cruiser class 1 and ‘Fire Chief’ captured the Cruiser class 2 title.
The hotly contested 60 MPH class was won by ‘Limitless’, who could be seen leading the 60mph class into the first bocas.
In the 70 MPH class ‘Ketch This’ ran away with the victory whilst ‘Mobil Outlaw’ was victorious in the 80 MPH.
‘Iron Man’ & ‘Motul Monster’ who could be seen clear propping in Sync were the 120 MPH and 130MPH class winners.
The 2022 Powerboat season is now officially over, see you in February when it returns!
