Keepin’ it Simple Stupid: TTDA Drift Motion 2

Keepin’ it Simple Stupid: TTDA Drift Motion 2

Utilizing the top corner of the Wallerfield International Raceway, the Trinidad and Tobago Drift Association (TTDA) executed one of the best Drift Motion events on Sunday 22nd May, 2016 amidst the torrential weather thrown at them.

In order to minimize the confusion drivers experience when running through a course TTDA opted to place cones only at the clipping points resulting in four clipping points (three rear + one front) that were more than visible especially when in tunnel vision; because helmet.

On the other end of the track a figure-eight and smiley face was set up to accommodate the beginners (Oh hi Farieed) to practice the basic maneuvers such as drift circles and transitions, while under the tutelage of the more experienced drifters such as Devon and Roger.

Volume Two saw a handful of new entrants such as Anthony (Twine Supra) in his so famous MK3 Supra, which unfortunately suffered a water jacket failure preventing him from trying his hand at the competition segment. In entry level competition Mikhail Mohammed made his name as he copped first place out of a field of nine, also showing great potential in the entry level is Nicholas Ramlochan and Loki Ramsaran.

Unfortunately advanced level competitors saw some challenges where a few of their cars broke and they weren’t able to reach into competition. True sportsmanship was displayed by Imran Khan when he allowed Roger Hutcheon to pilot his Nissan C33 after Roger experienced some issues with his own car, allowing Roger to secure second place in his competition. First place saw none other than Heera Manorath in his JapSpeed C33.

Trinidad and Tobago Drift Association wishes to extend special thanks to: Autosport, Lubetech–Total Lubricants, Meguiars, VP Racing Fuels, Toyota Trinidad and Tobago Limited, Trinidad and Tobago Marshal’s Association, TriniTuner, Zorce Racing Magazine, Unlimited Tyres- Nankang, Chef Café, Carib Beer, Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, our Judges (Rawle Murrel | Imtiaz Baksh | Debi-Ann Shezara Abdool) and last but not least the drifters and spectators.
