Barbados, an island paradise located in the Caribbean. It’s stunning beaches and water, people, food and culture attract many tourist throughout the year.
 
At the end of May every year hundreds of visitors flock to it’s shores for a different type of tourism…Motorsport! Over the course of 2 weekends a number of cars, crew, spectators and media from around the world enjoy sports tourism at its best.
 
In 2018 the Barbados Rally Club’s figures showed that some 315 people from as far as New Zealand to as close as regional neighbors Trinidad & Tobago made the journey to this special event.
 
The 30th running of the islands and regions biggest annual motorsport event kicked off on Saturday with the car show. This allowed spectators to be up close to all the machines entered into the event,meet the teams and collect various Paraphernalia.
 
A record 95 teams have entered the event this year and will head into action tomorrow at the ‘Flow King of the Hill’. This event is basically a seeding order for next weekends main event ‘Sol Rally Barbados’.
 

Competitors will tackle the 4.5 km Stewart’s Hill stage over 4 timed runs. Taking that of a sprint format,teams compete for the fastest stage time instead of an accumulated total.
