Reporting from Houston

The cold weather in Texas over the past month has not been too kind, especially for a warm weathered Trinidadian. But the sun is back, the temperatures warmer, the wind not so much…. and the toys are coming out to get that much needed vitamin D. This was my first event to shoot for 2021 and hopefully many more are in-store. It was definitely another opportunity to check cars off of the proverbial bucket list.

And what better than a LaFerrari… one of the holy-trinity of recent hypercars. Added to the list was a stunning one-off all-electric Alfa Romeo…. yes you read that right…. with an interior more to admire than to sit in. Completing the all star lineup, a Diablo SV, a Mazda Rx-7 in a well done Veilside Kit from Tokyo Drift fame, a McLaren 765LT, a Ford GT and two cars from the Shelby stable, a Cobra and a GT500SC.

The event was hosted in conjunction with Mercedes Benz of Sugar Land, and as could be expected, some fine German machinery was in attendance. Not 1 but 2 SLR McLarens, a SLS, a GT63, C63 and an Indy car. Overflowing on the outskirts one could find a number of GT3 Porsches, both versions, a TDF, not one but two 812s, a fully kitted A90 Supra straight out of the pages of an import mag, a new Audi RS6 ( I had a personal moment ), a number of OG NSXs… and a walk around the car parks or just standing close to the roadway, there was eye candy to be seen and heard at every turn, all under the watchful eyes of Houston’s finest.

Up next? I can’t say……. but I hope it involves movement and some racing action, though I did spy a gathering of horses.
…. till next time.
