Superstreet IRS #3

Superstreet IRS #3

Finally! The much anticipated 3rd instalment of the SuperStreet Intermediate Racing Series occurred on the 2nd and 3rd of July- and with good weather too! As usual the Saturday of the event was used to host the driving school and open practice for the drivers, riders and the Segway users. Yup, Quad Motion brought out their Segways and gave SuperStreet staff the opportunity to use them in their activities- how cool! They also gave the spectators demonstrations of the two wheeled green transportation device.

Sunday began with a time attack session for all the classes; SS1, SS2, SS3, SS4 and Bikes.

Since SS1 consisted of a mere 2 competitors it was merged with SS2 to have class (SS1/2) with 6 competitors. Out of the SS1 section Neil Gopeesingh lead the way with a 49.409s at 105.65km/h in the LiquiMoly Suzuki Swift. The fastest in SS2 was Anil Mack with a 47.437s in his Honda EG Hatch 1.8

Like clockwork the SS3 race swiftly followed which saw Dario Jordan top the timing board with a lap time of 46.839s closely followed by Sheldon Seepersadsingh (Nissan S13) and Akash Maharaj (Mazda RX7 – RB20).

Guess who led SS4? Allister Rahamut of course- the Mitsubishi Evo 5 pulled a 0.161s lead on Kristian Boodoosingh in his Honda Civic FD2 Type R.

Continuing with the Time Attack competition the bikes were let on and Rossi Joseph won with a time of 44.121s followed by Nicholas Gonsalves and Warren de Nobriga.

In both the SuperStreet Circuit races the podium positions remained the same- Allister Rahamut, Kristian Boodoosingh and Mayank Ramlakhan.

Kristian Boodoosingh then went on to put the Volkswagen Jetta to ultimate test- a time attack session, him versus the track bringing the best out of the car with a 51.462s.

Promptly at 5pm SuperStreet RaceWeekend #3 came to a close.
