TTASA Circuit Racing Event #1 2022

TTASA Circuit Racing action returned to the Frankie Boodram Wallerfield International Raceway in full swing. We tested our very first live-stream at this event also.

The first event since the easing of sporting restrictions due to Covid-19 was packed, not so much with people but with close battles in three race groups: GP1, GP2 and the all-new Caribbean Spec Miata Series.

In GP1 close battles between the likes of Brandon Singh, Darrel Singh, Riyad Rampersad and Aaron Achan had all on the edge of their seats as they battled for the top positions.

In GP2, Aamir Mohammed and Raj Baboolal finished a mere 4 points apart from each other at the end of the race day.

The Caribbean Spec Miata series provided some of the closest racing action among T&T’s top circuit and kart racing drivers including Ravi Singh, Ronald Wortman and Ryan Peyrau. But in the end, it was Ravi Singh on the top of the points.

Seems as though we may have the changing of the guard with respect to the bikers. Nicholas Gonsalves led for the majority of the first round hounded by Rossi but was eventually passed for the lead. Rossi never looked back winning all three rounds.

Time Attack sessions saw our favourite street cars battle it out, finishing just fractions of a second apart from each other.
