The Trinidad and Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) strongly condemns illegal street racing, recognizing the significant risks it poses to public safety and the legal implications for those involved. Street racing not only endangers the lives of drivers and pedestrians but also undermines the reputation of Motorsport as a regulated and respected activity.
TTASA encourages all street racers to channel their passion for speed into legal and organized events at the Frankie Boodram Wallerfield International Raceway (FBWIR), the official home of motorsport in Trinidad and Tobago. At the FBWIR, drivers can compete in Drag Racing Events within a safe, controlled, and professionally managed environment. These events offer opportunities for participants to develop their racing skills and potentially earn rewards for their performances.
“Real racers race on the track, not on the streets,” said Ashton Eligon President of TTASA. “At The Frankie Boodram Wallerfeild International Raceway, we ensure that motorsport enthusiasts can experience the thrill of competition without compromising safety or legality.”
TTASA remains committed to promoting legal motorsport activities and providing the necessary infrastructure for drivers to engage in their passion responsibly. We invite all who are involved in or tempted by illegal street racing to join us at Wallerfield and be part of Trinidad and Tobago’s thriving motorsport community.
