War of Wheels 2019

La Vega Estate, 05 May, 2019 – Quincy Martin from Bin Stuntin Promotions teamed up with Sebastien and Tris Buuron from La Vega Estate to produce War of Wheels Motorsport Festival 2019; the only motorsport event in Trinidad and Tobago to include a number of sporting categories on one day. Now in its fifth year (2nd installment at La Vega Estate), War of Wheels has found a home on the estate, as it provides varying platforms suitable to each category of motorsport, while allowing easy viewing for patrons. At this year’s event we introduced a kid’s ticket and a 4×4 group ticket. These additions were well received and served to encourage the family oriented event we envisioned.

War of Wheels 2019 again featured exhibitions from BMX freestyle riders and the Liquid Adrenaline team. North American FMX stunt riders Mike Ouellet and Geoff Gaskin took the ramps for the second year, and in their first appearance in Trinidad, French Sport bike riders Benjamin Baldini and Romain Jeandrot dominated the pool deck with their stunts. As War of Wheels fully supports children learning the ins and outs of motocross, some of the country’s youngest riders were invited to
make an exhibition lap around the LV motocross track.

Competitions on the day included Motocross Racing, Drift and a 4×4 Off Road Challenge and all athletes competed for the Ole Xtreme Challenge Trophy in their respective categories. In the motocross race, local riders took to the LV Motocross Track for three rounds of competition, but in the end the coveted trophy went to Daniel Owen. As 12 of the country’s best drift drivers competed, the crowd response favoured driver Imran Khan at the end. The newest addition to the competition arena caused mayhem with the crowd as the 4×4 Off Road drivers took to the mud pit. After much lifts and dips, Sanjay Dass emerged the ultimate winner.

The War of Wheels team is grateful to all athletes, participants, vendors, sponsors and patrons who came together to make our event a success. A special congratulations to the winner of the PW50 motorcycle, Kazim Abdul. We look forward to having you all join us again in 2020, as we work to bring you a bigger and better event.

We are pleased to announce that due to the success of the event, YAMAHA has showed interest in motorsports locally and we will soon be launching a motorcycle school for kids interested in the sport.
