Doesn’t it have an engine, steering and a team? Nice, another aspect of local motorsport so that’s why you’re seeing this here. Though not as popular as most other forms of motorsport locally, the Trinidad and Tobago Power Boat Association hosts Regattas throughout the year just as any other motorsport body. For the year 2015 there are 5 events carded, that is 4 regattas with the 5th event being the more popular and hyped Carib Great Race.

Carib Great Race 2012
The Carib Beer Great Race 2012 was hyped to be one of the best ever seen in the event’s 44 year history and the event did not disappoint. Fire One throttled by Guy Costa and driven by stand-in driver James Hadeed (driver of 2010 winner HeatWave) crossed the line in 1:24:46, also winning the 120mph class in the process.
Carib Great Race 2011
Fire One emerged the overall winners of Great Race this year with Stampede coming in 2nd and Gulf Dragon 3rd. Other favourites including 17 time winner Mr. Solo and newcomer Monster both broke down early on in the race and were unable to complete the race. Heatwave, Extreme Measures, Hero III and Energiza brought in 4th to 7th places in that order.
Great Race 2011 Boat Parade
The Great Race Boat Show started off with the grand parade early in the morning at 9:00am. All the boats assembled at West Mall on their trailers and also with their various team members. They then paraded through the streets of Port of Spain, St. James etc. accompanied by the beautiful Carib girls, as well as the Monster girls.
TTPBA Powerboat Regatta
The final regatta for powerboat racing until The Great Race 2011 in August. With big teams such as Rage, Stampede, White Heat, Too-High etc. Don’t miss that! Team Alien as usual giving big air with massive jumps, almost jumping over one of the buoy markers. In all, all the boats gave a strong performance, meaning that you would not want to miss the epic action @ Great Race 2011. Big ups to the skipper of Obelix for the TriniTuner crew to come aboard to shoot!
