so spending the lil extra would be worth it.
however the new iMac cannot be upgraded unless you want to use a heat gun and remove the glued glass panel that is fused to the LCD (there are no screws) to get inside. The Mac Mini can be upgraded by the user.

Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:^ the 13" air is a fantastic laptop. Even better if you use an iPhone, iPad etc.
Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:Depends on what you want to do with it. The MacBook air cannot be upgraded by the end user so depending on what you plan to use it for you need to make sure that all of the specifications you need are built in when ordering.
If you plan to use it as a netbook with Office then you can go with the lowest specification, however if you'd like to do Photoshop or video editing then you should try to max it out as much as possible.
Understand the Mac makes much better use of system resources so you will be able to do quite a lot with the lower processor and just 4 gigs of RAM.
Personally I got the 8GB of ram even though it would be for mostly net book use.

The i7 may really be a waste of money. The convience of a larger SSD may be better than lugging around a portable USB 3.0 HD. I can trasnfer larger files if and when needed.
I would not be doing auto cad or any video editing.
Light PS and mostly coding in DW or the better OSX DW alternatives.
