Yup leaning the most toward Imperial due to it being in London.
Money is not an issue...although living in London along with the higher tuition would cost at least £5K more.

True dat!
crossdrilled wrote:I have no intention of doing my masters in our field, as I am considering the management route. I keep abreast of the industry with ISA and IET membership. I suggest the US as the British university system was described as bing in crisis by the IET just a few years ago also. Only problem is that if you want to work, you might quicker get the visa to work in the UK with a UWI degree than in the states. Need to do all kinda state board exams and thing to get a license to practice in the states.

Dude employers does laugh at UTT degrees down here.
Next time a UTT or SBCS graduate want to feel they could call themselves an engineer i go hit them a hard slap. You are glorified technicians, that is all.

I've heard the only way to get into Cambridge is if you get a President's medal. Anyway, OP i say you should go UK, you'll be a bit more comfortable, and the application process is through UCAS.

Uwi's medical degree was recogized up till about 6-7 years ago. I believe the last class to have full GMC accreditation was class of 04; which means you could of applied to speciality programes without doing anything additional.
Now it's a whole different ball game.
crossdrilled wrote:Oh, as for UTT, their graduates are well respected in the petroleum industry in Trinidad. I have worked with many in BG, BPTT, and on the estate and they are actually less haughty and willing to learn than UWI grads I work with, thus get further than the UWI grad that thinks too much of themselves and looking for glory, willing to put in the extra effort to get a job done and sweat with the best of us in the field to solve problems. Their students are placed in part time work/ study programs much faster than UWI graduates. Mr. Devourment if that is your attitude to people who got their qualifications from an alternate route from yours, you are no better than some expats who come here and think that our engineers are just a bunch of monkeys banging on computers. I am proud that I have a degree, but after working for just about 11 years, do you really think that what lessons I did in an alcohol induced state of zombification actually means shite to any employer who would look at my CV right now? I think you have some growing up to do.

Dude you cannot compare UTT "engineers" with UWI engineers. UTT's level of work is not even close to on par with what UWI graduates have to go through.
That said, not all UWI engineers are worth their degree.....but trust me it aint easy to get first class honors.
And again, UTT produces technicians. Nothing is a wrong with that. I have met some excellent techs from UTT who are hardworking and fast learners.
Engineers they are not.

UWI doctors cannot practice in the states. Only in the UK. They have to do the USMLE exams, get a placement, then work as an intern from scratch. UWI doctors can only work freely in the UK.
