Police funny, crime has now escalated everywhere, total madness in all areas of the country, police cant be everywhere at the same time, and yet when citizens make arrests and take matters into their own hands ..they are being warned against doing do by police... so we just supposed to let these criminals take what they want, rape who they want , molest who they want and keep quiet???

You can take matters into your hands at your home for protection.

Years ago a court case was won where a home owner set a trap to cut the hands of a break and enter bandit via a window trap.

I think the bandit had one of his hands cut off while trying to pry open a window.

Home owner was taken to court but won his case as it was his home and bandit had no right being there.

this is my point, why did it even go to court? if a man attempts to enter your private property via illegal ways why should it even be an issue, where is the automatic protection for the home owner? criminals should not even have a right to challenge such .

Maybe police like putting hand cuffs on inoccent folk and arress ticks on their police productivity record .

But a precedence has be set on protecting yourself at home , so the law have to think twice before taking folk to court .

It goes to court as they can be excessive use of force. So yes a burglar come into your home and he died. If he died from 2/3 shots their should be no investigation on excessive use of force. But after lets say 6 or 10. Yhhhhh u overdoing it there. Same with like stab wounds. The robber died by 6 stab wounds. Meh ok. But we reach in the teens or the 20s. Nah this person have pyschopathic tendencies and after getting a taste for blood may become a danger to the populace. I think thats the thinking of excessive use of force when it comes to defending your property.

^ IIRC there was a case a number of years ago where a teen girl house breaker had her hand cut off via a home made guillotine contraption (south Trinidad I believe). If I also remember correctly the house owner ended up in court for building said contraption and may have lost their case.

Our newspapers horrid archival system not bringing up anything.

So the dirty trinis keep robbing the Chinese at Esperance.
I think they robbed them 3 days in a row last month.
Now the Chinese have to spend more money to hire extra security and escort etc.

On another note a brejrin said there was some huge commotion with about 8 police vehicles right opposite that same grocery yesterday (but on the residential side) and something like gunshots.

Not sure if shakes or rollings them know what went on but bejrin say it could have been an attack on the Chinese because of the amount of police and also because you not hearing any update on it.

Robbery at St. Charles R.C. Church - Tunapuna this morning.

t. Charles RC Church Tunapuna

Breaking News: Armed robbery at St. Charles Church at 10:30 this morning outside the sacristy but in the car park. Julian, Lucy Regis and Rhonda Dookwah were approached by two young men who then drew guns and proceeded to rob them of cash phone and jewelry.

Fr. Taylor was in office and heard someone shouting “In The Name of Jesus!” Repeatedly. As he looked out the window he could see one man draw a gun and point it at the three victims. Sister Lucy continued to shout the name of Jesus.

Fr. Ian ran out of the office and Julian came inside to inform that the men had already fled on foot.

However sister Louise McKenzie saw the commotion and the weapon(s) and ran like she never did before to the eastern main road where Police officers were on patrol. The officers quickly ran to either side of the church and pursued the men on foot.

The bandits jumped into a waiting white car and sped off. The Police were on foot and so could no longer pursue them. As I type, the officers are looking at footage of the robbery on the monitor in the secretary’s office.

First video is the armed robbery. Second video is the police in pursuit.

Please keep these 3 persons of Christ in your prayers.

Security Guard charged after making false report

David Balkaran, a 41-year-old Security Guard, was charged with wasteful employment of police time, after he falsely reported a robbery to Chaguanas Police.

On November 10th, 2020, Balkaran reported that he was robbed at gunpoint along Eleanore Street, Chaguanas, the previous day. Balkaran further reported that he was relieved of $500 cash, a pack of cigarettes, one slice of watermelon, and a piece of bread pudding by an armed man of stocky build, dark brown in complexion with a goatee.

Officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department (CID) conducted investigations into David Balkaran’s report. He later confessed to fabricating the entire incident.

Balkaran was charged on November 26th 2020 by WPC Orosco and will appear before the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court today.
