What is there to explain?
Jamaica, a totally different country from Trinidad & Tobago culturally/economically/geopolitically/healthcare approach/geolocation from the equator and you comparing their covid issues to T&T?

Why not compare Italy to Trinidad and come to the conclusion that were all gonna die?

The only real fear I have now is knowing that you are an actual medical doctor, if the medical board gave a deranged person like you certification, then Trinidad is much worse off than we think, you're insane

Yes you are so right! Don't listen to anything except the mainstream narrative and call everyone else insane.
Stay in your house, don't come out of your house, because there are people in the medical field with different points of view.

Be afraid ... be very afraid.

Its scary when you realize that these folks could barely read and write and they allowed a vote to decide who runs the country. Its even scarier when you realize that they make up close to 40% of the population according to an ALTA study.

There are actually loads of healthcare experts around the world crying foul as to the misinformation coming from the establishment that is driving fear and turning people into mindless sops.
Its just that they are not on MSNBC, CNN and their views are not echoed by Deyalsingh. The information you get nowadays is highly curated by the media and big tech. People are being de-platformed and censored just because they do not follow the narrative.

Dr. Bratt ... One the best Paediatricians on the island has been speaking out as an example.

A real life example is how the media and governments got people to start sanitizing their groceries ... One big farce. Every sane microbiologist has been taught that corona virus spread is from person to person via respiratory droplets and surface contact spread is not considered to be a route that these viruses spread. Yet they had every tanty/ajee/auntee lysoling groceries before entering their house and some people still doing this crap.

Dr Bratt is a pediatrician. He is not an infectious disease doctor nor does he possess any public health credential. His views are his own and should be considered in that light.

Another qualified physician is Dr. Fuad Khan, who walks around without a mask in public all the time. He is a urologist and studies dicks for a living.

Yes because people are incapable of learning outside of their field of speciality

While I agree it's crap, back then we didn't know and those in authority who might have actually known, were afraid to speak out due to fear of being wrong.

They can learn, but they are not experts outside their specialty. I've seen first hand how physicians in one field can be hugely off about medical concepts outside their own line. Dr. Fuad Khan is a walking example of that.

Dr. Bratt is great, but this is beyond him. I've seen discussions from parents, teachers and students in the US where they had in-person classes for months now. It's a huge bag of crap for all involved. We should want nothing to do with that until at least we get vaccinations available for teachers, parents and grandparents.

Research is expanding what we know about the novel coronavirus and how to stay safe

A difficult road for public health leaders

The still-evolving nature of COVID-19 information has created road hazards for public health leaders trying to offer clear — but sometimes changing — advice and warnings to the public.

Exhibit A for evolving evidence: Face masks help prevent COVID-19

“At the beginning, we thought wearing masks was not a good idea because we were worried that people would feel invulnerable and fail to physically distance,” Pollock said. “We have much better evidence now that shows the importance of masking in keeping everyone healthy. We’ve also seen that the majority of people still know to be cautious.”

Latest science on who transmits COVID-19 (part 1): People without symptoms

A recent summary of the latest data by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that about two-thirds of the COVID-19 transmissions in the U.S. come from people not showing symptoms – either because their cases are asymptomatic or the symptoms haven’t developed yet.

Latest science on who transmits COVID-19 (part 2): Young people

Early in the pandemic, some of the information available said younger adults were less likely to be infected by the coronavirus. Now, more than 60% of the COVID-19 cases in Sacramento County are among people age 18-49, and the largest single group is age 20-29. That’s a trend nationwide.

Key areas with still-evolving science

Long-term impacts: Researchers and providers are learning more and more about potential lung and heart damage from COVID-19, but much is still unknown, including whether the damage could be permanent.

If COVID-19 patients develop immunity: And if they do, how long does it last? One reason this piece of science is progressing slowly is that researchers simply need time to elapse to effectively monitor patients and their immunity.

Transmission from aerosols: Those are the lighter airborne particles that can float in a room for hours. Studies have identified coronavirus particles in aerosols, but the evidence is not clear whether those aerosols can transmit COVID-19.

Transmission from contact: “This is not a major source of transmission,” said Blumberg. “Handwashing is still important, it just should not be our focus compared with social distancing and wearing masks.”

Please stop ! What’s this evolving evidence you are talking about . Men saying it’s all to control us . Let’s rebel and not accept new evidence . For corona you had to choose one side only and it’s bragging rights for whoever got it right first

^ and u believe the men who saying it is to control us? what are their qualifications?

Look, this may be the first major pandemic to hit in our lifetime, but it is certainly not the first in history - their have been many others, some even worse. the last major one was a century ago in 1918 - the Spanish Flu. So yes virus DO mutate and once in a while it crosses over into humans. we just happened to be living in a time it has happened.

check this out

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_epidemics

it's easy to fall into conspiracy theories because of the drastic worldwide change and hardship this has brought -even i myself have thought about it, wondering whether they ushering us into the New World Order or something but if we just educate ourselves u realize that this is probably not the case (though Big Pharma can certainly take advantage of a crisis to make massive profits from vaccines) and this has happened many times before. we are living through history- and history will record how we responded to it.

Stay in your hole  and don't come out till CNN tells you to.

See that's where your delusions fall apart ... People are listening and they are fed up. Not many people are following "your rules" people are out and about enjoying life and still there is no avalanche of deaths. Beach was crowded last weekend was a blast! You should come out and enjoy some Vit D3.

That's a bullsheit offer so there is no need to respond to it ... The fact that you think you could "get someone in" in a secure lockdown facility for a visit just continues to show how delusional you are.

official death rate is 1.7% and that excludes the around 40% (according to WHO) of people that do not show up for testing because they show no signs or symptoms and don't even know they have it ... Remember that case of the sniffles you had after Carnival last year and you thought it was a "cold" or just feeling real mash up after a wine on dat real hot red gyul who cough twice during the song? Which puts our death rate around 1.02%.

Deaths per year hadda cross at least 500 for this thing to be of some concern for yawl that eat sheit and partake in no physical activity cause that's our murder rate in an normal year.

If you all concerned just lock yourself in your house so the rest of us can live it.

that could easily happen with exponential spread- especially with variants, most definitely the B117 which is BOTH more contagious and more deadly

I'm not a denier ... The common cold exists ...

There are scarier illnesses though like ebola, AIDS, TB, HTLV-1 (Which has a 30% chance of giving you leukemia/lymphoma 10-30 years later.)

Yes you can .... TB is spread via respiratory droplets, WHO estimates put TB infections around 25 to 30% of the world population. So round 1.8 billion people have it.

It is the number 1 infectious disease killer in the world. You would also be surprised as to how many people in Trinidad have it. Especially with the influx of Venez.

It was amazing to see a syphilis case the other day, present at a district health facility, never seen one since I started working in 2007. De Dragon better watch himself with those late night rendezvous with dem spanish gyul P.S yuh could still get syphilis if you just wear a mask.
