People don't care anymore ... They are burnt out and really don't give a sheit.
Just like how people have become numb to the carnage/murders that happen on a day to day basis.

time to go back to normal.
The vaccinated to unvaccinated death ratios rising as well. Natural immunity taking care of the unvaccinated.

In Trinidad, this year only, unvaccinated deaths on Jan 15 were 88% of total; and on Feb 25, unvaccinated deaths were 87% of total.

No other data has been published.

Really? The world is approaching 8 billion humans and you choose to cherry pick the lack of data on a small island with 1.4 million people to disprove a point you know is wrong.

The data across the world shows the vaccinated hospitalizations are increasing vs the unvaccinated.
You just like Rowley in opposition, oppose everything even if its right just cause you in the opposition minority.
If, and only if, you simply failed to mention worldwide then I retract. It is fully expected that population prior infection will play a significant role is reproduction rate reduction.

I also stand by the fact that the vaccination vs. unvaccinated death rates in TTO have been stubbornly consistent.

the MoH updates have numbers on the graphs. you can take those numbers are compare them week to week to see how many more hospitalizations or deaths there were for both groups.

5-7 deaths a day is still more than 2500 a year. it eh done just yet, BA2 now start to spread. but we maybe on d last lap.

if we wanted to we could have done like UK which can safely drop all restrictions including isolation/quarantine, but half the population decided to prolong the pandemic.

most of those deaths is due to comorbidities. only reason why the unvaxed number high is cause they lump the 0 jab and 1 jab figure into that one metric, to hide the fact that plenty people cant take even 1 vax.

Only good looking, healthy, fit people with plenty of leisure time were able to get both doses before the delta variant surge.

if plenty ppl, and we talking half the population took 2 vax and OK, how on earth so much ppl who only took 1 vax, dying? if assuming the vax was causing deaths - why would MOH lump vax deaths with covid deaths, make themselves look bad and caused a team of people to have to be appointed to find out why we had so much deaths? our daily vaccination rate started to stall long before the huge wave of deaths which just happened to occur during the wave of infections caused by the more severe delta variant.

Well I guess you forget the details already, so a quick rundown:

She had a positive PCR test, negative Antigen test. She most likely didn't fill out the travel pass.
She flew here via Panama, Copa airlines dropped the ball in checking the documentation, especially since there isn't any requirement for a PCR test to enter Panama.
When she got here, she had no choice but to present her real details and get buss throat one time.

No, my comment was on the fact that she should never have been allowed to leave Panama in the first place.

adnj wrote:Are medicines affecting our response to infections like COVID19

2 March 2022

A wide-reaching global review has found that some of the most common pain and fever medicines might increase vulnerability to infections like COVID-19, while others may hold hope for improving our immune response.

Key findings of the clinical review

For pain: Morphine suppresses key cells of the immune system and increases the risk of infection, particularly after cancer surgery.

For fever: Antipyretics – e.g. Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Aspirin – can reduce the desirable immune response when taken for vaccination.

Aspirin could be an affordable and accessible therapeutic option for tuberculosis – which mainly afflicts poor countries, with beneficial results shown in animals and humans.

Anti-inflammatory medicine indomethacin may reduce viral replication in Covid-19 but large-scale human trials are needed.

The largest clinical review of immune responses to paracetamol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and opioid analgesics, with a focus on infectious diseases, has provided insights into unintended impacts of these commonly used medicines. The findings highlight the potential for some of these medicines to join the fight against old and new infectious diseases.

Although research into these drugs has focused on their effects on pain and fever management, until now, their impact on the treatment of infectious diseases specifically was unclear. The findings highlight the need for more studies in this under-recognised area of research, with wide-reaching implications.

Then why did you say they ALL missed her noncompliance? It was Copa Airlines who messed up. Our Port Health officials who caught her.

Your statement comes across as though even our authorities missed her.

Prime Minister Dr the Hon Keith Rowley made the following COVID-19 announcements in Parliament today:

Families will no longer be required to be masked in their vehicles. This change will also apply to marine vessels being used by families.

Mask use will remain in force at this time in all public spaces and places where there is public interaction.

Public transport will be allowed to return to 100% of capacity.

Mask wearing will continue to be required in vehicles being used for public transport, including vehicles in which persons are paying to be transported.

Removal of restrictions with respect to the length of time and numerical capacity at religious places of worship. Mask wearing will continue to be required during services at religious places of worship.

The number of persons permitted at graveside funeral services will be unrestricted but mask wearing is mandatory for the time being.

A reduction in quarantine time for unvaccinated nationals returning to Trinidad and Tobago. Quarantine time will be reduced from 14 to 7 days with discharge taking place on the receipt of a negative PCR test on the 7th day.

A decrease in the national quarantine time for contacts of positive cases from 14 to 10 days.

The Ministry of Health recently reduced the isolation time for positive patients from 21 days in all categories, to 10 days for persons with no symptoms and 13 days for those with moderate to severe disease. They will be discharged in accordance with the discretion of the County Medical Officers of Health;

Public gatherings of persons in groups of no more than 25 permitted

Team and contact sports allowed

Establishments currently allowed to operate as safe zones for vaccinated or exempted persons, and children under the age of 12, to operate at 75% capacity;

Provided that we do not have dangerous changes in our COVID-19 position, we will permit all children to return to physical schooling in term three. The Ministry of Education will put out the necessary guidelines to safely manage this process;

As of Monday 7th March, 2022, the public service will return to full service and ALL public servants will be expected to return to work as normal.

The Ministry of Health will be presenting a national pathway for the consolidation of the Public Health Service that would see the return of the Health System, and by extension Health Services, to an as-near-normal existence, as the country transitions from the acute phase to the endemic phase of COVID-19.
