I have a debit card, not a CCRedVEVO wrote:zoom rader wrote:redmanjp wrote:so u avoid both POS and ATMs? so why have a card ?
When i was younger I used the card until they got ridiculous on the POS and ATM fees . I normally use the card for online airlines tickets ect. I have a UK card that I use and that has no fees attached to it on POS and certain ATMs, this card I use abroad.
Zoom have a UK Credit card is sooooo impressive and titillating![]()
All the female Tuners must be pm-ing him now now.
So how do YOU pay for this credit card from Tobago or Trinidad or wherever you reside ?
Not trying to be facetious, just asking for Max and Tun Tun

Those of us with the financial self-discipline to properly manage a credit card will find that the rewards far far outweigh the risks.
Those who cannot control their spending should definitely not get a credit card.
A cc is a tool for building up your revenue generating assets. If you are using it to cover expenses you doing it wrong! Having access to an 'instant investor' worth a few hundred thousand at a moments notice is a huge benefit IMHO.
But then... WTF do I know...
You half right, and half very very wrong
A cc is NOTHING like an "instant investor", it's actually just an instant short term high interest loan.
Lol... said like a man with a Black CC and no cash flow issues.

Word of advice, don't get sucked in to taking or using CC.
CC are a scam and once you get hooked in using money that is not yours you spiral down.
Always use money that you have and don't be fooled by the points or cash back scheme.
The points and airmiles always change to the card company advantage and you have to spend $1000 just to get back $20.
CC is for idiots
zoom rader wrote:Why would anyone spend $1000 to get back $20 and then pay for fees in Trinidad.
In the UK CC are free , they trap u in debt

CCs are by far the easiest way to avoid the hassle of obtaining US in cash when travelling abroad.
Just treat it like a zero percent interest loan each month. Never spend more than you have in your primary account and pay the amount back in full every time.

No, that will show up in the next bill. Once you're not in arrears that is.

ok. but what if the deadline to pay it off is like 2 days later? then that 5k will be part of the balance and u have to make sure u have money to pay off that?

A large number of citizens in the US are usually deep in debt that most people in other countries don't have. Student loans, medical expenses etc.
This is Trinidad though, so if you follow the mantra of never spending more than you have in your primary account and pay the amount back in full every time you should be ok.
It is a scam when u have to pay yearly fees .st7 wrote:a man calling CC a scam cause he cant control his spending?

Do NOT use it like a debit card at any ATM to withdraw cash... If you do that you have just taken out a loan with a daily compounded interest rate.VexXx Dogg wrote:zoom rader wrote:OP

Exactly!
Use it like a debit, but it might come in handy for emergencies (medical or otherwise). Be careful of debt traps.
You can get back ur money on a DC if fraud is found. They just dont talk or advise about it.j.o.e wrote:Credit cards aren’t the issue. How you use it is.
One of the best reasons to use credit cards is fraud protection also. There’s a big difference between how banks treat with card fraud if it’s debit or credit

It’s almost instant with a credit card …… has to be investigated on a debit card. You would be the one out of pocket while they investigate.
Its a game the banks play with you.j.o.e wrote:zoom rader wrote:You can get back ur money on a DC if fraud is found. They just dont talk or advise about it.j.o.e wrote:Credit cards aren’t the issue. How you use it is.
