A soldier is to be charged for causing the vehicular road death of Kiss van delivery driver Neil Ballai.
The investigating police officers received instructions on Tuesday to charge the 29-year-old soldier with the offences of causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a certificate of insurance, failing to stop, and failing to render aid.
A police file was submitted to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and instructions were given to the investigator W/Cpl Cobbler to lay the charges.
Once charged, the suspect who is of Erica Drive in Laventille will appear in the Magistrates Court.
