Cheapest speed queen I see locally is more than twice the price of a digital washing machine though.

Worth it and a gas dryer... Never looked back

Yeah meen mind spending the cheese on a speed queen when I need a new machine next.
Gas dryer is the flick, instant heat and no high electric bill. Have a whirlpool and no issues

Speed queen worth every $... Got mine for 9k at fens about 2 years ago.

Speed queen is a really good brand but they are made in different locations and quality differs.
Same like Shindaiwa Shindaiwa we get in trinidad is made in Japan and also in the US. ( I only buy the Japanese)
Stil we get in Trinidad is made in 3 markets. Germany, Brazil and Mexico (this was about 3 years ago don't know if there is others now) QA is definitely not the same.

mums had to change a SQ dryer belt after a year. It's not abused like how I overclock my decade old whirlpool 4-6x weekly.
