The incident happened at their FarFan Street Arima home early on Monday 16th December 2024.

Morris-Julien was a Minister in the Ministry of Education and the Member of Parliament for D'Abadie/O'Meara.

She was also a former Mayor at the Arima Borough Corporation.

This is a tragic and developing story.

Coming from you that means less than nothing. I'm sure your father is shame he made an alphabet boy but here we are. Shouldn't you be on your way to Nelson Street right about now

Probably if the powers that be invested their increase in salaries towards equipment and proper working vehicles for the fire service they would have been able to attend to such. If anyone knows the fire service has been running with outdated equipment and defunct vehicles for quite a while but nobody cares until something like this happens

Read that also... fire services are stationed on the next street, but personnel were attending to another fire that was reported first some distance away around the same time.

What a twist of fate.

fate or karma? could be by natural disaster, accident or bakr hand i not shame or have no remorse to say it damn good when policiticans meet their fate. Ah wonder if da useless bawlhead woman was bawlin so for the countless victims of crime or even other fire victims nor didn't i see all dem MPs run out for any of the countless murders in the district.

Well when u call ttps and they can't respond cause the vehicle out on a call, thst is okay?

Fires stations are suppsed to have more than one tender for THIS precise scenario .

The cross coverage approach is for if u have three fires or more in built up areas

You know earlier I asked to mods to move the Lisa Morris-Julien story to a new thread. But after letting it stay on my mind today, I think the mods made the right call keeping it here. There is fundamentally no reason why this should be a separate thread but the lady whose throat was slit in a home invasion doesn't need a new thread. Both are tragedies and neither is more important that the other.

So let me post my regards to Lisa Morris-Julien. I will say her education ministry was clearly the best performing ministry in the PNM.

Not just that - the best performing education ministry in recent memory.

They've made structural changes that have improved the outcomes for tens of thousands of young citizens. I would not lump her in with the other PNM politicians - she actually did make a difference and was more results than talk.

On her passing, I will say this is Kaliyug. If you don't know about Kaliyug, know it is the age of suffering. This is where everything is inverted - the bad win and the good lose. We who live in this age are bound to suffer, particularly the moral and the virtuous. Suffering is not just a characteristic of this age - it is a purpose. I don't know what Krishna has decided for Lisa, but we will all go back to Krishna eventually.

On the spectacle today of politicians crying and bawling in the street - take it for what it is. People who are mean and nasty don't stop being mean and nasty on occasion. What hover said about sacrifice, I don't agree, but I know enough to say there are people who take Obeah to be as real to them as Christ is real to me. And there are sociopaths - the ones who see nothing wrong in doing any action if it results in their personal gain. Politics is filled with the sociopaths, and you could argue that in Kaliyug, it is a prerequisite to succeed.

Erla is on the case and I hope she succeeds no matter who is seen bawling and crying to plead their grief and innocence.

I also hope that now, now (now!) the overworked and underfunded fire services are prioritised and given the tools and manpower they need. For all our sakes. There are youth waiting for a good job. There are people with degrees qualified and sitting at home. It is in our national interest to have at least these critical sections of the government functional.

tl:dr
RIP

Paid lemme ask you a question, do you believe Manning was the only one in the PNM with a so called spiritual advisor, if you believe in God you have to believe in the devil and his acts. All I will say is ppl will do anything to keep power. If ppl will use obeah to secure positions in companies why not use it to keep control of a country

If you are living 5 minutes from the fire station and they can not help you disband the whole service.

If you as a government and employer are not providing the necessary tools to do the job why blame the fire service. Is years now the fire chief has been complaining that they do not have the necessary equipment needed for emergencies, his cries fell on deaf ears. Now that it's one of their own that paid the price let's see if things change

All animals are equal while some are more equal than others. Forget the families that have to wait days sometime a full week for an autopsy, to the point where they have to pay out of pocket for it
