Also I asked gemini for the worst internet provider in Trinidad. .. Even they know the answer IMG_20250402_060815.jpg

Did their connectivity improve? I just noticed that they have a 100G peer in Miami which is new.

Looks like they have big things in the pipe line.
Yeh improved.... Still not staying with them no matter.... It "improved" Last time for about a 3 weeks and was back to square one

Still consider them the buttom of barrel internet provider for Trinidad

Testing them at the moment. Seems like that 100G peer is making a difference. I would consider this the start of peak times and it's pretty stable at the moment. Will continue to monitor.

Also, are you using their new wifi 6 router?. or you're using your own. This can make a difference.

That's why it's essential to report them to TATT when they can't resolve your complaints after 3 attempts.

In all honesty, all of the ISPs have their drawbacks, but Amplia and Flow are some of the most neutral with your traffic outside of Trinidad and Tobago, IMO. Speaking from having 30+ sites with a mix and match of their services.

You're correct. But I called and asked about the high pings and the rep said it has been rectified. I guess they really started to loose customers.

I will continue to monitor. But last night was really smooth and stable just like when I first got the service.

Digicel is great but sometimes it's feels as though it's restricted, kinda hard to explain. Lol. I probably explained in some previous post but viewing what'sapp stories constantly freezes and sometimes streaming takes a hit.

So Gastly369 hold a bit and see how it goes .

Multiple reports to TATT including friends nothing came out of it took my time logged calls, logged speeds, time date servers document it etc to get zero... Was a waste of time overall

We already got a "fix" December for about 3 weeks and was back to square one

Rn yes working no packet loss and avg 71-100ping in game

Playing same game with neighbour on same team same server only difference he on flow and his ping is 51-80

Fiber "upgrade" justified... not really

now

vs then
Screenshot_1.png

switching to digi after easter (dynamic ip assignment my only reason for not going with them. fluctuating ping based on ip...kms)

my concerns are about ping in league of legends (best was 80 now 110+) and path of exile (best 67 now 120+).
every other game / app that's ping reliant will continue to suffer until they fix their congestion
been with them 6 years, experienced the good and bad.

Well im not a gamer so this may not matter to me. But I think Digi will suit your needs until you have to reboot your modem regularly for better paths. I am honestly tired of it,, especially while streaming. Connection feels like it's a continuous burst of packets and it's not consistent .

I have been with Digi for 12 + years and I have also seen the good and bad. I will continue to monitor amplia to confirm if their congestion issue is fixed. They at least confirmed it via phone.

Anyone has their 500down/300up package and can give any reviews? I'm looking to have a backup connection and need descent upload speeds, flow makes no sense. I already have digicel, but thinking about Amplia as the main and digicel as backup

Well, LOL!!! their peeringdb info was only updated in March... That particular upstream link was culprit since I have been testing and it has changed.

It's decent and consistent now. Before, I would have told you, HELL NO. Their ping is the lowest so far. Digicel's ping fluctuates due to Dynamic IP switching every 48hrs.

Amplia can now become the leader soon. Can't believe im saying this, the last couple of weeks have been great.

Yea, that digicel ip change while not a major issue, every 4 months or so my ports forwarding gets messed up. I got accustom to changing it, but still a risk. What modem does amplia use, is it a modem/router combo? Do they have a bridge mode where I can use my own router? Can you post the model number?

I don't need tv & phone just internet.

Well, it will depend on the area. For me in the east, Arima, if your choose their Smart Wifi, They bundle a Calix 803G which is paired with a Huawei OptiXstar K562 (rebranded Amplia) which has Wifi 6. The 803G is in Bridge Mode or Hybrid (not sure) where you can use your own router. It basically a modem only.

Not sure if that has changed, before you got the Calix 844G which was router/modem combo and the wifi performance was terrible.

I am using a Ubiquity Cloud Getway Ultra paired with a U6 Mesh and the performance is excellent . Your milage may vary but I haven't heard anyone complained since, so im guessing the ping issue is fixed. I even called support to verify.

Currently I am getting constant 47ms latency to google servers, lowest I have seen so far with any ISP in Trinidad.

Digicel routing these days are messed up since that major issue in Jamaica. Even their mobile data service has deteriorated.

Digi browsing is really fast, but streaming may suffer from different sites at certain times.

Thanks for the info. Digicel is throttling a lot with streaming services, especially on the weekend. That's a plus for the bridge mode, I feel ill give them a call and find out more. Nice to see you have UniFi, I wanted to get the Dream Router but I ended up going with an Omada setup. If you get any issues coming back up let us know

Im at 42ms steady now. - This is the reading from my cloud gateway.

Anybody from south getting high ping? Mine is like 120-150 on the east coast on all kinda games and stuff. Just did a pingtest to chicago like someone above did and it was 130. It used to be way better last year, like half the ping. I call them before but they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about. It so frustrating.
