How much of a problem will a torn dust boot on a rack and pinion cause?

the torn boot will allow dust and eventually cause it to go bad. happened to the cefiro, was just lucky to detect it b4 anything else happened. on ah u will have to camber and alinge after,i think

Thanks...the dust boot can be changed by itself with changing any other components?

^^^ yup once yuh changing it b4 much dust get in there

dust in there can damage your steering rack end (knuckle joint)

if a lot gets in it can damage your power steering mechanisms

i change mine at laughlin and degannes cuz i didnt have time to change it myself, so i'm not too sure about the process.
