Ummm... dark curtains will make the reflection increase

Use light curtains instead.

The bird is basically horny or pissed... it is seeing it's reflection and thinks it's a female OR thinks it's another bird trying to muscle in on it's territory, which is why it's coming back... might think it's getting mad play or a persistent squatter.

The bird will stop after breeding times pass... the only way to stop it short of killing the poor bird is to stop the reflection.

i think that just makes it hard for the bird to comfortably stand.

If there is space on the ledge, you can use the method they use to stop pigeons from landing... a piece of wood with nails driven thru... birds can't land on the pointy edge of the nails.

it may in this case..
Apparently birds on a wire *rofl* dont get shocked as a human would cause its not grounded...
but in the case of a window sill (ground) you can hope that one of his claws are on the sill and the other on the wire..

Better yet, but some bread on the wire...

try glue (the one found in trees)...he/she will stick to it and you could catch him and release him far...far...far away...or give it to olton's sons..

Go in sports and games and get a marksman slingshot, tho it hurts me to injure or kill any of those usually cool quiet birds, black birds however, I have no mercy or tolerance for.
In the meantime, just relax and be glad its not a jumbie bird (barn/screech owl), because as God is my witness, that talk is for real.

padna get a piece of wood like a 1 by 4 , take as may headless nails and pound it in , and take it so that the pointy side faces up and rest it on the ledge , make sure that the board and the nails cover the ENTIRE ledge , the bird will come and try to sit and not be able to and fly away ,

please dont kill the bird
