Alpo at times but mostly pet-rice with chicken scraps+liver, pork (bones and scraps from my dad's meat shop)

They never fuss to eat that...

I started my Rott on Science Diet. It worked best of everything I tried in the past. When I stopped buying it, it had crossed $385 per bag, and I found it was getting too expensive. How much is it now, for those of you who still use it? I'm considering switching back since I may be able to afford it and I want the best for the dog.

After I switched from Science Diet, I went to Purina NEF (Nutritional Excellence Formula) in the green bag. Some noticeable differences between the dog's general well-being from switching, but nothing to cause a panic. Been using it for about 3 years now.

Then a couple months ago, it seemed scarce in Price Smart, so I took the Pedigree Adult since the Purina NEF bag at home was about to run out. He did not resist the switch, he just started eating it as if he had been eating it for years. Usually, dogs tend to shy away from new chow until they acquire the taste.

I don't know if it's that he's been rolling in dirt very often these days, but his coat appears slightly dull as compared to its usual sheen. I'm also wondering if the new chow is a factor. I'll let him finish off the next bag and monitor how he goes, plus he's due for a booster shot, so I'll ask the vet their opinion.

But anyone using the Science Diet, please post the price and where you buy it.

Canidae. It's made from real meat, without corn filler, plus my puppy doesn't like proplan. Read more here.
