okay brent, i sry but i hadda bring some truth to this thread...


arite ppl...honda hoe prob gonna get me back for this but d man had

-Dc sports swap header
-2 1/2 Inch exhaust
-Hondata k-pro
-skunk2 drag launch coil over's
-AEM C.A.I.
-Spoon Throttle Body
-Walbro 255lph high pressure fuel pump with a skunk2 composite fuel rail
-12.5.1 comp supertech pistons

it have some more, but i think thats enough for now..

we all know, even, hoe, ur duh change Type R Headers int dc5 unless you buy toda, comtech, fullrace and fullrace remake....

Aight I reach...
I have to give the low down on hoe's car and what he had in when the engine went boom on the dyno and what may have caused it.

* Spoon 70mm throttle body
* Toda Spec A3 racing cams (No valve springs) which lead me to think that he got the cams either used or at some great deal etc...
*2 1\2 custom crush bent exhaust.
*AEM CAI
*Hondata KPro

He continues to deny this but the facts are all there :-
1) No tuner would turn the rev limit to 9500RPM when they know that the valves start to float around 8700RPM
2) No tuner raises their rev limit because of a throttle body upgrade. The only things warranting the rasing of your rev limit is cams & valve springs, upgraded rods.
3.) The engine went boom because a valve broke and fell into the chamber at 9300RPM.

There is only one other reason why the engine went boom and this is probably because the K series engine's oil pump starts to cavitate at around 9000RPM so it is possible that cavitation started which caused the tensioner to not do its duty causing the engine timing to skip some teeth on the cam gears which would lead to the piston hitting the valves causing them to bend and\or break.

Whatever the reason I want the whole of Trinituner to review the reasons why one would increase their rev limit.
