ok, i have need some help and i want some big people answers.

i know it is the weekend and children have access to their parents computer but i would appreciate you go play starcraft or whatever thing you do for fun.

now i know tuner have some successful business men, so i seek some intelligent responses.

the scenario:

i am away at school, doing some "refresher" courses if you will and once that is done i plan do either do a degree or maybe some form of a trade.

now, i know i cannot enjoy adulthood working for no man, so whatever direction i take.. i want to do my own thing and have my own business.

Judging frm the subjects u did you can only develop u'reself more in the degree field then hit u're masters . Get some work exp and consult .

If not go learn to weld(sp) , hav u're own business and be u're own boss .

it all well and good to wanna own a business but at this point in time u gonna ketch ya tail to succeed so dont feel iz jus so .... do ur research...iz one thing to have ur own business and its another to keep it open and making profit.

If you are looking at starting your own business, the first thing that you need to do is choose your own field. Its imperative that you have some sort of inkling or passion for that field. No one can tell you what to choose.

Education is great, but it should really reflect your career's direction. If you have no experience with running your own business, you should seek to understand the basic workings of the Average business. In these tougher times, it will be harder to stay afloat. Over the past few years, people were able to get by without proper accounting and business skills, because money flowed easier into their business. Inefficiencies were hidden because of sheer volume.
Register for some Basic Accounting courses, Management courses. Some of these book leaned skills are invaluable.

Your thinking is in the wrong order.We can tell you what will make money but even the best money making idea with no passion will sooner or later become boring and falter.
Do some inner searching and decide what you like and what you really have a passion for THEN further your studies in the relevant field.After school take some sheit from an employer,get some experience in the relevant field THEN try to open your business.
If you really have a passion for it and care for it you will find a way to be successful and "have a big ride".

But I assume that since you are out of school for 6 years you are fairly young so IMHO get some more work experience in order to understand the business environment. Not everyone has the same luck.

Btw why did you go away just to do "refresher" courses..that same money could have been spend down here and you would have the some extra capital to invest in "building" your business..just my 2 cents

if you looking to start any business the first thing you need to learn is how to sell never be on the mindset that the business would sell itself cause you would be in some headache after a while at it, also seeing as academia is not really what you want to pursue how bout doing something you love and employing academics to do the academic aspects for you heck thats what henry ford and all the other business people do( not all locals eh), anyway the point is it doesnt really make sense asking other people opinion on what could be a good business to start cause it might not work out well for you as it would with someone else, so go with what you always dreamed of doing and you should be good with that. just one side note don't open anything retail at least not yet unless its a bar sales going to slow for a while

I am assuming that you left school after cxc, judging from the subjects posted you would have been 16/17, add 7 yrs would make you at least 24...a few more years for your "refresher" and Degree - 28 / 29. Do you have the financial backing to open your own business and keep it running..if "after school you do not want to work for anyone".
To start any viable business there will be some significant capital involved..where do you intended to get the money and if you have the funds available why dont you do some research and start one now instead of wasting 5 more years still deciding what you want to do / become.
