I have a Sigma 28-70mm F2.8 EX DG and while both the EX and standard DG share the same angle of view they are very different lenses. That said I don't particularly like this lens....it's range isn't useful for anything more than portraits and the like. But that package doesn't seem half bad overall; you are getting a lot for your money.

I was playing around with Maya last night and tried to reproduce this image:

Firstly, I wouldn't buy anything from 47th Street Photo.
Secondly, I'd consder the reviews for this package
Thirdly, as confirmed in the reviews. The lenses are ok, but the rest of the stuff is worth nothing. Just filler to make a "kit"

You've had problems with them Scully? I purchased all my camera stuff from them without any issues. Shipping was fast, but that's a given since I'm located in Brooklyn and they're in Manhattan.

Thanks David,I am now using just a rolled up sheet of photographic paper on my flash with a piece of kitchen tissue on the end as a diffuser which is attached to the camera.
What are you going to be using?

did some reviews and they seems pretty decent...that rest of the kit isnt that much of the deciding factor to me...but the cost of the lenses separate would come up more than the price if i were to buy them separate...

i used the sigma duane has and i think the reproduction was pretty decent...its a good lens for the price....

i would be using the shorter lens for more portrait shots/party pics but i would be upgrading to a Canon L lens later in the year so i thought i would purchase this for the while.....as well as a Canon 580 External Flash

This is what I am using now,I am glad I dumped the delta flash bracket that was so heavy and bulky and kept flopping over from the weight of the flash, this is virtually no weight added.

Here is the latest shot with it.
I will just have to make a longer one for when I want to use the 3x up to 5x magnification.
