What are your votes when it comes to a D15B-T or a B16A swap?

Note that both cost about the same
Turbo a D15 $15000.00
B16A and Gearbox $15000.00 Installed.

or did u compare with a boosted D ?

if u going B save the extra and get B18c GSR

base your decision on

coin u gotta spend most of all

1. more performance would be b16

2. mild , b18c

3. just spend...

FOrget them weak sauce GSR engines... go type R and slap all the parts you can on it !

If you are running a turbo D and don't like the torque then you have a bad setup or a newb tuning it..... D15b/T will out torque any and all n/a swaps you can consider. The downfall will be the redline combined with the D series box (ratios kinda suck).

Anyone want to buy my B.... Imma go D16 turbo again !!!

What X2 said...go D series boost and build it right. I know you do your research, so get some studying going. It's the better choice between the 2 pound for pound.

pound for pound for real... consider a turbo D setup can be made lighter than a LSVT or CRVT swap so even handling will be better as distribution will be closer to stock.

You will loff zee boost.

And for some reason I'm regaining the desire to actually do another D series project....

Well building the engine inside out will provide much more boost pressures and give me allot more power. I could even install a GT35 lol...

Hum this one will have to be thought through and looked at from different angles. Building it will be allot of fun though.

Stick to the D15B Vtec if thats what you have. You can make up the torque in other areas if you like... or get a D16Y8 motor and boost that....big time...

Do not go with the D15B 3-stage vtec.

How ever the B16A is a great swap plus when boosted...lots of fun and comfortable in the 13 second bracket... plus easy to drive for Daily Driven.

I stress out all the time have a Goal and stick to it....

Its not all about how fast you are, its not all about who you beat in the race.
Its all about being reliable.
Its all about your goals in the build and consistency at all time wins and bring home the trophy at the end of the year, which leads to sponsor in future and bigger builds for more HP....

HP Goals-???
1/4 Time???
etc etc....

Good Luck
NY4PD....

My boosted D15b is complete but I did not get the boost gauge in
time. So while testing and running it hard the head gasket blew.
Thank GOD it was that alone. My car could now out perform most
SR20s and b16a's.
My goal for now is just 200WHP.

Honda crew boost gauge and air fuel gauge is a must have when increasing boost and testing/tuning (wide band if possible)

Ok well, you have to be careful, you should have at lease a spring for about 7-PSI then you can use a boost control manually or electronic. If the motor is stock use a 7-PSI spring, However if the motor is built for more boost then you can use a 12-PSI spring and then use a boost controller. If the motor is stock internals then tune for 250 to the wheels and you will be set, providing you have the right injectors and fuel pressure regulator with a upgraded fuel pump and fuel rail...

Keep me inform as you go along..
