help on plugs

Postby xtseries » October 15th, 2009, 9:59 pm

I recently changed the plugs from a
short on to one with longer threading
on my qg16 engine. The company said
the engine was made to use the longer plug
but the car came with short plugs.
I changed the plugs to the longer one and the
gas peddle got realy stiff
is some thing wrong

plugs

Postby slow323 » October 16th, 2009, 1:12 am

is this the qg16 de second series engine i.e the engine in the new model almera

cause we changed the plugs out with the longer threading to the regular size without any ill effects so i dont think it would be your plugs

only way to know for sure is to change the plugs back and see if the problems stop

btw how is the car idling and did you do any work on the throttle body

Which company are you speaking about? Is your car E-Trottle? The E-trottle uses the LFR series spark plugs and the cable trottle uses the BKR series spark plug.
The LFR is much longer than the BKR. If the plugs were too long for the engine then I believe that they would have touch the pistons and engine would cut off because the plug would not fire without a gap in the plugs. The E-trottle acuator most likely can cause the still X. Do a scan.
