The code numbers are displayed as sets of flashes separated by a 2.1 second pause. Each set comprrises a series of 0.6 second flashes, an 0.9 second pause and a further set of 0.3 second flashes. The first set represents the first two digest of the code and the second set represents the last two digits.

eg. Code 0102 would be shown as one 0.6 second flash, a 0.9 second pause and then two 0.3 second flashes.

NOTE: 10 flashes slow and then 10 flashes fast =you do not have a fault stored

LMAO. I know. But she's usually under covers and only comes out for baths and special occasions. It have too much arseholes on the road nowadays and i'm extra careful when she's out. Took her out early thrusday morning cause i couldn't sleep. Drove up the highway, dropped in on a friend then back home.

I was turning off the EMR and a old bluebird decided to take the same turn on the outside (he wasn't in the turning lane) and i had to pull right to avoid getting hit. Talk about screw face.

i got the van serviced on friday, got most of my problems sorted out after reaching there 7:00 in the morning and leaving just after 4:00pm.... the smoking has eased up, it is pulling slightly better and the air condition problem was fixed.... i know that automatic navs supposed get less mileage but i still believe something is wrong when i getting $97 for 555kms....
another issue that i have noticed is if i am driving around 100-120kms and release the accelerator, the rpm slowly decreases (with the speed) and then around 1500, it shoots up back to around 2500-2800rpm and revs out the engine... another thing is when i am slowing down, the rpm goers up and down at around 1200...
not bashing as well but this reving out kinda reminds me of a firetruck toyota prius....
i left massey with hearing these three lines;
1) monitor the van and let us know
2) we will have to drive other navs to see if they all work like this
3) do not forget to run it very hard, these vans need "roughing up"

Folks who just received their NAV from the firm, I know there was a post a while back about breaking in the engine. Were you advised of any such procedure and did you follow it?

Comments?

The d40 is a good truck but it is a long way from the tough truck the d22 was. I have had several of these in the shop for lift kits and the stock supspension is very weak. Road driving yes much else (weight ,offroad) well I don't think I would if I have one of them (never happen just saying.....) this said I had a d22 and my foreman still drives it no problems at all run great and goes anywhere.

You need to keep the vehicle under 4000 RPM I think for the first couple hundred KM...or something along those lines..I forgot what they said to do

I read it in someone of these posts but don't have the time to flip through all the pages to find the exact post. If the folks who just received theirs were not advised and it's not in the users manual well....I guess I'll ask about it when it's time to collect.

these engines like a lot of the newer cars that come out now have pre-broken in engines. that means it is not necessary to follow a strict breaking in period. that said, the 1K service is important to change oil to remove any metal fines that may have accumulated in the engine during its first peroid of constant hard running (under load)

Found similar guidelines on a couple Navara forums for "Break-in schedule".

- Avoid driving for long periods at constant
speed, either fast or slow, and do not run the
engine over 4,000 rpm.
- Do not accelerate at full throttle in any gear.
- Avoid quick starts.
- Avoid hard braking as much as possible.
- Do not tow a trailer for the first 500 miles
(800 km). Your engine, axle or other parts
could be damaged.

During the first 1,000/1200 miles (1,600/2,000 km),
follow these recommendations to obtain
maximum engine performance and ensure
the future reliability and economy of
your new vehicle. Failure to follow these
recommendations may result in shortened
engine life and reduced engine
performance.

It's apparently in the owners manual, also what biggie said is a good rule regarding your first oil change.
