MuscleNerd from the iPhone Dev-Team has posted a video showing a jailbroken iPhone OS 4.0.

"Something you'll only find on JB 4.0: VNC (BTW don't bother with betas, they're *very* buggy!)"

It's unlikely that the Dev-Team will post an update to PwnageTool until the final OS 4.0 ships...

Scott Forstall, Senior Vice President of iPhone Software, explains why the time for the iPhone is stuck at at 9:42 and the time for the iPad is stuck at 9:41.

This information comes via Jon Manning, Lead Developer at Secret Labs. Manning happened to notice Forstall in an Apple Store at the iPad launch and decided to ask him this puzzling question.

Multi-tasking can be easily enabled on the iPhone 3G by setting a flag in the capabilities plist, according to a tweet by cdevwill.

wow looks like multitasking can be enabled on the 3G if you just set multitasking=TRUE on the capabilities plist in SB (N82AP.plist)

This doesn't come as much of a surprise. Apple doesn't want multi-tasking to run less than optimally. Disabling it is most likely a choice made to keep the device from running slower. (and of course to sell more iphones...)

Geohot, the iPhone jailbreaking expert who has released popular jailbreaking and unlocking tools like blackra1n, blacksn0w has just announced that he has jailbroken iPad.

In a post, tweeted an hour back, he has shown his iPad running in verbose mode to confirm it is jailbroken.

i cant wait to see HD, I am thinking deeply about it. I'd go as far to say it will be finally a complete camera phone now.

they were saying how easy it is to port beta, something about not needing your UDID and a custom restore. If this is possible, i'd go as far to say you can update, jailbreak and preserve baseband? and hence use ultrasn0w. Or i'm i too optimistic?

TBH as i said before, im not updating. All that changed is game centre. All the features are already there in 3.1.2 via Cydia so i'll haul ass till June.

It was in my pocket, I sent a text and put it back in my pocket. Then I cheaked my phone and no reaponce. It had 49% charge when this happened.

I left it charging on my pc last night which doesnt recognise the phone in iTunes.


No dfu nor recovery works as of right now. I'm searching the interwebs for a fix.

Well I slapped my phone in my palm(idk I just did) and it came on! Showed the "connect to charger " screen.


Conected it, steped outside and returned to be greeted with a blank white screen. Any ideas? It went back into being unresponsive now.

Palm has put itself up for sale and is seeking bids for the company as early as this week, according to a Bloomberg report.

The company is working with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Frank Quattrone’s Qatalyst Partners to find a buyer, said the people, who declined to be identified because the sale isn’t public. Taiwan’s HTC Corp. and China’s Lenovo Group Ltd. have looked at the company and may make offers, said the people.

Dell also reportedly looked at the company but decided against an offer.

It is just over a week since the iPad launched in the US. However, we are already hearing rumors of Apple working on an iPad with a different form factor.

According to reports on Taiwanese publication DigiTimes, Cupertino might launch a mini iPad as early as the first quarter of 2011.


In a brief article today, DigiTimes Research senior analyst Mingchi Kuo is reported to have unearthed information about the "mini iPad" which will focus on the eReader market and could be targeted at users who may not have a great need for interactive browsing. DigiTimes reports:

"Kuo, citing talks with upstream component sources, said Apple's smaller-size iPad will be priced below US$400 and will target the highly-portable mobile device market and consumers that focus mainly on reading and do not have a high demand for text input."
The report further states that the mini iPad could come with a display measuring between 5 and 7 inches.

There are already speculations following the launch of iPad that Amazon might be dropping the price of its smaller 6-inch Kindle eReader to $150. By offering a cheaper and smaller tablet device that is customized to the needs of the ebook reading population, Apple may be in a better position to take on competition in this segment.
