A couple things reading the last 3 pages.

1. mech was ah mad man to say the injectors needed changing.

2. That liner is sheit...how much massey charge for that crap ?.

3. Normal mileage is 700 - 750 KM on 95TT odd diesel.

Patch what brand of liner and how much + installation

installed 1 year ago so will have to call to see what is the price now.

well i jus email my sales rep on long ars letter letting her know about my disappointment in the bedliner fitment its seems like the liner was not even meant for a navara u was cut to fit the van stups any wyas lets see what they say than i will make my decision , by the way where this places i installing at and what is the price to the arero i can pm me the price if u dont want to put it up here cool

When driving my frontier...yd25 egine (2.5 model) ..when speed increases ( going into 4th or 5th gear) i hear a whirring noise....the noise occurs only when i accelerate...if the van is not in a gear and rolling free..there is no noise...only when in a gear and speed around > 80kmph and the accelerator pedal is pressed...there is instant whirring...
I drained the gearbox oil and around the magnetic drain plug there were considerable sized filings found together with the silver slush normally found.
Does anyone know what has happened? ( i suspect a bearing since i see some brass pieces)
Is this replaceable or do i need to buy a new gearbox..?
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated....

guys, parked my van las night, came out this morning and the whole of my left side is scratched up badly, looks like a dog or cat was tryin to jump on the van or something, it pissed me off so bad,i tried taking off the scrathes with mothers scratch remover, but no luch, its just to many, ive got it to the point that u cant see it standing away from the vehicle but if u inspect it close u see it there.

is there anywhere i could go to get this buffed out? (the car is black so its driving me crazy)
im not even bothering to go to work today, anyone got any ideas?

damn that sucks get a car/van cover , humm as for the scratches i am not sure man i need to see it some pics of the scratchs might help , it might be able to be buffed out , once u sort that out cover to be safe i have to do the same , i have located someone who seat covers for the navara in many different colors both in leatherette or fabric if u intrested let me kno i link u with the number , however i have not checked the person yet for mine , hopefully soon .

well i also called massy today talked to the sales manager (Mr Hill) told him about the liner and i was told it would be replaced, so i wating to see what going on from here he said he will contact me at this evening no call yet ,but i calling him in the morning for sure to remind him i need this changed , i also called the service department in San Fernando to set an appointment for my 1000km 2 weeks 930km they gave me 11th of next month i ask what will this service include, its a change of oil , oil filter , air filter , fuel filter , and its free ,i ask twice to make sure all these are changed and its free , now to make sure they live up to their word i will mark all my parts with a metal marker at certain spots and check when i receive my van to see if massy realy doing what they said , for sure i know the oil is starting to get darker , it was clear initially ,so noticing the oil change will be easy , but the rest i have to see to believe lol neal and massy and free dont realy go well together so i shall see how that goes

Might be the gears grinding. The metal filings are highly suggestive of that.

I'd suggest taking it in to the dealer or to a mech who knows about the Navara trans., and getting it checked out. A brand new gearbox would cost a bazillion dollars man, better to correct the problem now before MASSIVE headache comes soon. I replaced the clutch plate and other stuff on my D22 frontier at N&M, cost me close to $15K.

doubt they will chagne the air filter...that's not due until its dirty or at a specific mileage

man thats what i was told when i ask about he 1000km service however i marked all the filters with a metal marker so i would let u all know if they actually change these stuff or its jus talk

Dude that sucks man - I hate to see when an animal jumps on my car or someone's car and leaves claw marks. Do you have any small dogs or a cat? Sometimes when they see their reflection they go crazy and attack it - just check any youtube video about dogs and the mirror and you'll see.

I remember seeing this compound that can fill in light scratched on a scratched paint-coat, they come in different colours to match your car's colour. Basically you rub in the compound into the scratches to fill them up, and then you waz over it and then a final coat of polish. I remember they have it in black too (along with white, red, blue and beige).

I can't recall the name or brand, perhaps TurtleWax or 3M makes it. I remember seeing it in Laughlin and Degannes in Champs Fleurs a long time ago.
Was in their POS showroom the other day this past week while getting my D22's tires rotated and aligned, but I don't remember seeing it there that time.

Depending on how deep the scratches are, the consumer products used to repair light scratches might not be enough. May have to check a painter & detailer, but try the DIY solutions first.

well actually was a stray dog i believe, i have dogs but we hav the yard section gated seperately fom the cars for this same reason. sadly some mutt got to her
well i got the mothers scratch remover and turtle wax ice...took some time this mornign and good ole elbow grease and about 4 hrs of my time lol
well now she is back to lookimg as beautiful as ever...really need to get a car cover though

jhonnieblue - I found the product that I was talking about, in all places - Tru Valu Trincity Mall, in the car/auto products aisle. Used to have it in Laughlin & Degannes, I last saw it in the Champs Fleurs showroom when they used to have products there.

Turtle Wax Colour Magic.
Comes with a "lipstick" of filler, identical to your car's paint colour that fills in the deep scratch and then a waxy application to seal it in.

It basically comes with a lipstsick-style applicator, and you fill in the deep scratches with the product that matches your paint-colour.
Then you apply the wax coat and buff over it till it shines. I think after that you can apply a coat of Carnauba Wax to seal it all off and then maybe a coat of polish to give that extra shine.

Looks like a weekend project for me, I have a couple deep scratches on the D22 Frontier that I'd like to try and fix.

Will post a review with pics later on this weekend .

lighthammer , i was actually lookign for that but could not find it at all, guess ill have check trincity mall this weekend. 69.99, not a bad price...i have the mothers scratch remover, the trutle wax ice polish kit, the ice clay bar system and 20 different microfibre clothes (talk about over kill), but black is a reall hard colour to maintain.

i used to use the mother reflector polish on the xtrail but i like the ice better...easier to use
i def need that scracth remover though...this weeknd coming, prob sun ill give her a second coat of wax and then every other week!!!

cleaning cream leahter though, thaz the hard part! (btw the whole ice care car system i ordered online and it came up to less than 400 shipped down here...not bad at all)

yeah boi that cream leather is a killer , MR hill has not called me back yet about my bed liner replacement date but he assured me i will have it changed i giving him until monday then i calling and making some noise , i wating on that and my first service 11th to be finished , then i going to pick up my seat covers , then its turbo timer time , Jonnie does your link supply the timer also ? or i have to order one on line first ?

small dents that dont require painting such as when someone car door bounces your (typical trinis)

Aye that looks like an interesting technique brotha'... the frontier doesn't have any serious dents but I would like to try taht on a little spot that got pushed in near to the rear left door.

I still have to do a review on the TurtleWax scratch filler that I got from Tru Valu Trincity - but I went and bought the wrong damned colour (Red) when the frontier is Black & Silver.

Jonnie use a pressure washer and do it your self lol and grease up after also , as for dry ice , u can that from the those ppl who sell ice cream with their carts jus ask them for sum but buy some ice cream to not make it look bad right lol ,as for scratches i have nun as yet let me kno if u all see that turtle was in silver , i am also emailing the Amsoil wholesalers in trinidad (prolube) when i get a reply i will let u all know , i called today and the talk went well we shall see how it goes now ,,,, That Dry Ice thing i have to try
