If you were wondering whether there was a market for a $375,000 Lexus, wonder no more. Automotive News reports that all 500 copies of the 552-horsepower LFA are officially sold out. Not a surprise if you ask us, considering the fact that there always seems to be a healthy market for ultra-rare exotics with a ridiculously low production quota. But the fact that the LFA is resonating with the European elite is a bit of a shock, as the report claims that one-third of pre-sold LFAs are heading straight for the land of Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Lexus even brought eight of the German LFA owners to the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race for some wining and dining.

Lexus hasn't announced how many LFAs would go to which regions of the globe, but an earlier Wall St. Journal report quoted Lexus as saying that Toyota's luxury arm would hand-pick which perspective buyers would gain the right to own the LFA. Looks like we didn't make the cut, not that we had the $375k to spend one anyway.

This engine/exhaust note is probably the closest to a F1 car and that in itself = WIN

Comparing a LF-A to a GT-R is comparing apples to oranges.

Obviously the GT-R has more 'modding potential.' That's like saying "lol, you bought a ferrari? i could do so much more with my almera." You don't spend that money to mod a car after.

The amount of attention to detail in the LF-A is an amazing feat in itself... and at the end of the day, a V10 N/A engine of that caliber is FAR more impressive than ANYTHING forced induced.

Don't forget the LFA's V10 can hit over 9,000rpm and is lighter than a V6 engine!

I don't understand your statement....aren't the 2 vehicles in the video stock? There's a lot of attention to detail in both vehicles...but really, having a stock $97000 car do that to a $300000+ supercar is still amazing.....as an LF-A owner I'd be somewhat pissed after that run. Much respect for the 2012 GT-R

I remember Carlos Ghosn saying a while back that no other Japanese car must be able to beat the 2012 GT-R....it seems Mizuno-san took that seriously.

Can't wait to see what Switzer, Mines and Amuse will do with the 2012

GTR got the jumpo in this video. They should have done a few runs.

But the 2012 GTR is a beast regardless and may have still won anyway.

But for what it is (except the price) the LFA is nice. The sound of that car totally outshines the GTR in this vid

LFA all the way. 2012 GTR is a beast, no doubt about that but it just can't compare to the build quality and the luxury of the LFA.

still an apples and oranges comparison.

a race between the Lexus LFA and its main rivals, the Japanese Nissan GT-R, the American Corvette ZR1 and the European Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The battle takes place on the Fuji track and it also features a Ferrari F430 race car.

Just compare the price difference an engine size an horsepower rating the GTR is the smallest of them all an still it stands up in competition..
