It is a task to watch something with 3D glasses on, which is why I think 3D without glasses will be a winner.

also the movies in that list are also decreasingly good in that very order
I am sure the overall ticket sales also show the same dropping earnings for those movies, 2D and 3D

exactly. if every year we only have 1 Avatar i.e. only 1 movie worth seeing on 3D, i dont think that would help sales for home use very much.

how good or worthwhile gaming in 3D is, is still left to be seen...

Duane is right, 3D without the cumbersome glasses would be a winner. The Nintendo 3DS promises this technology albeit on a much lower scale where how close you are to the screen and the angle will allow you to view gameplay with a sense of depth. 3DS uses a screen overlay which can be adjusted by the users similarly to the concept of wearing glasses.

Tv makers have been racing to develop their own 3D tvs with screen overlays where the viewer wouldn't need glasses. Toshiba was one of the first at the E3 gaming expo to have this on display, firsthand reviews haven't been that great tho.

Having studied digital photgrammetry, I know how uncomfortable it is to view 3D for long periods, especially with glasses. You will get headaches and your brain has trouble adjusting after a while.

Remember in the 70's quad speakers were the rage, but this was very gimmicky and never caught on, with the advent of separate subs and satellites, and better processing, this made way for HT as we know it today, with 5-7 and 9 channels.

The glasses as others have noted is the main issue, but it will be really difficult to get a convincing 3D effect from many angles without them.

perhaps the next step up in technology is not another flat screen TV, but high end stereo projectors placed high on a back wall, projecting an image in an open space in front of viewers. This would give an immersive effect, I am sure rivaling anything on a flat screen.

ok finally got all my HT equipment set up but i ran out of speaker wire

when can i get 14 guage wire to buy since that's what i started with?

went to circuit zone and asked for 14 guage for my HT, d man tell me i shouldnt be so specific and jus ask for red and black speaker wire. i walked out at that point

^ and if you do....you have some seriously expensive equipment

on the polk audio TSi500's - replaced some polk bookshelves with these...set up remains the same...

noticeable increase in range of frequencies - was expecting richer mids - it delivered but was surprised at the upper end of the spectrum - the 500s were able to reproduce higher frequencies than the bookshelves...

very soft on the ear - smooth reproduction of sound - very good for listening to music and even better for home theater (no surround sound for me....just these and a sub)

finish of the kit is pretty nice as well.. good WAF factor

Also, you can use generic "lamp cord" wire in any electrical store. It will work just fine, and probably is cheaper than speaker wire. The clear insulation wire.

Those are terrible simensions for a speaker cabinet. And how is the passive radiator tunable? I'm guessing it is somewhere at the bottom of the enclosure. Neodymium just makes a magnet smaller and lighter, not necessarily better. Lots of marketing hype there.
