a friend of mine is currently spending the weekend in mayaro....he said dey hauled some 3ft size tarpon of galeota point...dey caught 2. and dey caught some one foot sizes but threw dem back... to small to eat....

and dey using live yellow cro cro for bait...that was a first for me....

manzan was good friday.
the sea was very calm, very little wind, water temp was a little high and water was clean.it was easy to cast far out. i caght a few pomps . only kept two good size ones . fishing was going good until someone came and decided to take over the spot. start setting up their tent over my car and thing ...just pissed me off. packed up m stuff and left

i fished there ah few times and heard sum stories of men ketchin cavali on d side but i never had any luck there...

I used to fish macqueripe regularly for a long time

cavali and small grouper bite between 5am-7am
used a cast net to catch jacks off the bottom ledge and they threw lines from out on the rocks further down.

The experts would tie the grasses on the walls to make a loop and run the line through that so you could sit and watch the lines, if a fish took the line the line could run freely.

i was up macqueripe a few weeks ago , didn't go to fish but there was this guy with his daughter fishing off the rocks . the girl was like 10 yrs and they were on the rock way after the platforms ....god knows how that girl reach there .
they caught some small jacks, made it seem like child's play lol

i sure there is the possibility of getting some nice bites there . live linig some small mullet or fry dry could be interesting

after speaking to locals, the real deal is fishing in the wee hours of the morning.....2am until..
fort Milford by the airport is a comfortable and safe spot....all kinda fish passes through that area.
