indianlove before you look at budget what are you going to be doing with this system, by the looks of it you already have a pretty decent rig there in terms of gaming, daily tasks, even multitask

yup bought my Gigabyte all aluminium full tower case from TEKNET a few years ago with a Core 2 Duo on a P5 board and just used it again on my i7 2600k on a P8 board a few weeks ago.

great investment

i dont want to order electronics online anymore because of DOA. it happened 3 times to me.
the reason for the upgrade is because the board sucks the scrotal region, my older asus crosshair
board got higher fps than the biostar board, but the asus board dead a while now and it only supported 95watts cpu max.

that is why i like to buy from the stores down here.
and i new to the online gamer thing. this current pc could do the job, but the board does bottle neck the cpu and gpu i believe because when i was using the x2 6000+ cpu and the 9800gtx with the asus crosshair board i got better fps on gta4 than this current pc.

take that same processor
get a MSI GF615m p33 board
is a micro board.. but works like WAW

it has 2 ddr3 slots.. get 4gb ddr3 1333mhz sticks..

keep the card
and trust me..u will have fun! thats way less than 2500

and all this is from experience

have the same board with a athlon2 3.2ghz cpu...4gb ddr3 1333mhz..and a 9800GTX+

plays every game good enough!!!! and the gtx260 core 216 is a faster card than the 9800gtx+

this coming from me..a guy who recently had a i7 950 at 4.35ghz on watercooling with dual gtx 480s in SLi all sitting on a eVGA CLASSIFIED mobo.

download the latest drivers and retest. Make sure you dont have anything running when doing the bench. If all else fails, that rating thing is bogus anyway

6.4 and 5.8 is high for that card i think. my old 9500 gt got a 5.4 i believed. but the windows 7 rating is standard, it don't change when a new part comes out. but if you install a new or better part it would go up. eg. you upgrade your 8600gt to gtx 460 it would be like a 7.5 or so.

The GTX 460 SSC gets a 7.7 in Windows 7 x64
I've don't use it for gaming though so I can't say how it actually performs in games.

lol i have the D525MW, paid the same price (it is supposed to be the same) to anyone else reading, DO NOT BUY these. Intel has 32nm ones the way ;) (yeh i shoulda wait for those newer atom cores... oh well)

Chiney, there is a cheap sempron plus i think a low end gigabit AM3 board. Same time I was buying that itx board my AMD buddy was showing me it.

AMD Sempron 140, Socket AM3, 2.7 GHz
http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Sempron-Socke ... 853&sr=8-1
Gigabyte AMD GA-880GM-UD2H
http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-AMD-Core ... =de_a_smtd

there are also ASUS type ones and you can probably up the price of the processor a bit with the extra $$

DDR3 RAM isnt too badly priced either

HELP: Computer techies

Postby bushwakka » May 14th, 2011, 7:15 pm

Hey, I've got a custom built system that has been running Ultimate 7 for quite sometime now with no previous issues. All of a sudden, I'm getting sudden shutdowns. Previously, I rebooted in safe mode and performed a system restore and that had seemed to cure the problem for like a day

Now, it just started happening again, so I reverted my overclock settings on the FSB to its original setting....its an E8400 processor that was overclocked from 3.0 ghz to 3.6 ghz

I have no idea what the problem is and I just keep trying things, apparently, the taking off of the OC is allowing me to type this but I don't know if its really the issue

Suggestions as to things to check? How do I check the Power Supply? Need an electrician diploma to do that?

specs are as follows:

evga 750i sli ftw mobo
e8400 now @ 3.0 ghz
Corsair 750W TX PSU
1 evga 470 gtx+
2 x 2gb corsair dominator ram @ 800 mhz
1 300gb velociraptor (boot drive)
1 300gb WD HDD (not used to boot)

Well, keep an eye on it. system reboots can be caused by overclocking. Even if the system was overclocked for a while with no problem, it can start to have problems down the road - due to dust, and degridated free air flow in the case.

If you find that your system is not randomly rebooting anymore, you know its the overclock. You can try reducing the amount you overclock by and see if that helps.

could be heat, check CPU fan, monitor the temps, do a stress test.. could also be the HDD failing

overheating. most likely. did you upgrade the intercooler? :-P
when it goes down, can you immediately get it back up?

as rodfarv said.. try taking it back down to stock GHz. that 0.something wont be missed much.

well...it wasnt even a reboot....it was just a sudden complete shutdown
yea, the overclock has been running stable for a good while now, I will do a cleanup of dust as well

doesnt seem to be the temp....yes the CPU cooler had been upgraded and temps appear to be normal

it just started happening again even after dropping to stock speeds
when the system booted tho, the windows repair console came up asking me to repair, so i did, and now here i am again waiting to see if the problem is solved

I really can't purchase a new laptop so I'm looking to see if its feasible to purchase a new motherboard.
So I would like to know some top computer sites to shop from.
Depending on price etc, i'll know if to order or change plans.
Btw the part number is 574510-001 for anyone in the business :|
