Not to take anything away from what the engine builder of the Evo did, but in the 1980s, BMW's 4 cylinder 1.5L turbo charged Formula 1 engines were producing around 1300bhp in qualifying trim and 850bhp in race trim. Note that race trim has the engine running continuously for a maximum period of 2 hours.

Actually thats a very good time considering 700hp and 800hp lambos, gtr's, porsches do around 28-32 secs

A fully loaded street EVO 8-9 would run those times with only 650-700whp and drive back home with the cold ac blowing! Ask me how I know!

*thought* Maybe because its an evo and it was never designed to too do 217mph(which is too damn fast for an evo), so maybe just maybe areodynamics a had a part to play there....and also it could be how the car is geared. You can hear coming to the end that it needs another gear.

^^Dude its not a 1/4 mile time they are going for, its a 1mile strip. Top speed is the name of the game, a lot of high horsepower cars dont have spectacular 1/4mile times IN THE REAL WORLD. So anywhere in the 11sec 1/4mile time is a good time for that track.

i'm willing to bet that all those 8 second cars that were previously posted cant come close to the top speed of the evo even if they had 5 miles to do it in.
