my bmobile tech chat transcript from this morning

AARON: hello
lwillia2:
Good morning. Welcome to Bmobile Webchat. My name is Ms Williams. How may I help you?
AARON: please clarify, when buying an iPhone 4, you pay 3500 for the handset and another 3000 up front as a downpayment??
lwillia2: That is correct.
AARON: *Please tell your management that this is way over priced!! - I will be ordering the iPhone 4 from Apples website unlocked for 4500 TTD*
AARON: thank you
lwillia2: Thank you for using our Web Chat service and for making Bmobile your option.

so i guess they dont care either
they are putting the $3000 towards your bill over a 24 month period though - so it's actually cheaper in the long run to buy it from bmobile.

I think they want you to make that downpayment as a way to not have people buy iPhones and resell it.

Bezman wrote:normal data sim wouldnt work, you need the micro sim and plan, they would be tied together.. just like a BB sim and data plan

jus a slight correction

I took my bb data sim and used it in my iPhone , when I purchased my iPad 2 I modified it to a micro simn inserted it , I am still using it in my iPad and it works great , much faster than on my bb .

so I can confirm that the once u activate the bb service / data plan on any sim card it will work on a non blackberry phone .

^ the data can seem faster on the iPad 2 just because of the dual core processor which parses webpages faster - the data rate is still the same as on your BB

isnt the 4g personal hotspot alone over 300$?

if so bmobile deal is not that bad because they offering the 4G for free

also it would be good if when the iPhone 4s/5 releases that customers can trade in their iPhone 3Gs /4 and pay the difference for the 4s/5 ....that would be great , not good.

ok just to CONFIRM - a TSTT employee responsible for rolling out 3G just confirmed that 3G IS NOT OPERATIONAL IN T&T from TSTT as yet

they are looking at later on in the year perhaps at the end of the 3rd quarter

There is no 3G for iPhone (or any phone) at this time. Instead to compensate bmobile is offering a 4G wifi hotspot free of charge to customers who purchase an iPhone 4 from them.

Since this person is more on the engineering side of the 3G rollout they cannot confirm if everyone with EDGE will automatically get 3G when it is activated or if there will be a separate charge - taht is up to marketing or billing dept or some other department.

So you can stop turning on your 3G on your iPhone every 2 minutes to check to see if you see a 3G icon!! lol

200th post on the 200th page of this thread ;)

what do you think bmobile has planned for existing iphone users because as off now the reps have no clue, they only keep repeating package 1, package 2, package 3

Yea, I figured it would. The speeds say that, but it actually browses pretty fast. Not running up to par today though. Probably as a result of Blink's recent problems.

I don't think they have a clue for existing iPhone 4 customers. I'd guess as well they don't know things like the Caller ID issue, the robbed Personal Hotspot, GPRS/EDGE settings, MMS settings.

Saw this unlocked iPhone 4 price chart I made earlier?
