Link, you all are wasting your time, we want everything free (what happen, FIA can't afford to sponsor every body), not to mention the fact we don't want to have anything to do with TTASA and FIA. We rather stay as small fish in our muddy puddle. FIA licence, who need that!!
Like you not reading all the comments about TTASA and Camden, crabs boy, crabs.

We have a very active Karting Association with competitors ranging in age from perhaps 5 to 55, has anyone been chosen to represent T&T?

it's an important opportunity for at least ONE OUTSTANDING YOUNG KARTER to experience top level competition abroad.......not to mention the thrill of OFFICIALLY representing Trinidad & Tobago INTERNATIONALLY ......
...
the ball is with TTKA now to make this (& other realities) possible for their membership.
....TTASA, as the responsible NSO/ASN, has put things in motion...

I see, so TTASA can't send a young kart racer to represent T&T unless TTKA becomes an affiliate of TTASA?

Nice to see an opportunity for a young racer to get experience, especially as TTASA is willing to to have them represent T&T and help with much needed funding. (A trip like this with all the expenses and conditions mentioned in the letter as well as tickets, meals etc should run to about 35,000).

Same thing I told you Link.
I don't know if I read wrong, but I got the impression that the terms and conditions were not set by TTASA.

When someone raise the funds and apply, everyone going to jump up and want to know how he going, who select him, more comess. It shoulda ah be this one or that one. People, do the application, look for sponsers, throw a BBQ.
My first set of Slicks was bought through a BBQ.
If you believe in your child, borrow the damm money. Nigel Manswell believed in himself, he mortaged his house and all he owned to buy an F1 seat, the rest is history.
Decide; Does my child have what it takes, or Karting is just another pastime to keep him happy?

Select the person, make the application and give them the FIA licence, as the NSO you should be able to do that directly and not through TTASA. Not so?

Prof, much respect to you and the other older heads of motorsport in T&T as always.

AFAIK an NSO cannot give FIA license, only an ASN. TTKA is an NSO, not an ASN. TTASA is the ASN.

I've seen the dedication and funds that parents pour into their kids at TTKA karting events these days - I am sure there is no shortage of that.

I think the issue here is that there are no young kart racers in T&T who are eligible for this international event because there are no kart racers in the age bracket who are either members of TTASA or members of a club who is an affiliate of TTASA. The young kart racers are members of TTKA and since TTKA is not an affiliate of TTASA, by extension, the kart racers cannot go.

that is why I asked Link if TTASA can't send a young kart racer to represent T&T unless TTKA becomes an affiliate of TTASA.

As a FIA NACAM event it is safe to assume that competitors clubs must be affiliated and certified by the ASN.

But can't TTASA make an exception for our youth?

TTKA members should take this up with their management...the options are crystal clear...

TTASA will get control of all old cane farms and want TTRC to join.

TTASA will get a really huge carpark or some land to build a drift course and expect DWO to join in as well.

Ya know what would be the easiest way for TTASA to get people to join? Let everyone have a voice, anyone with support from members be able to be nominated for positions on their board and not have to be put there by the "trustees". The day they do that I'll be lining up with my membership money.
