its more the vibration than anything else....and combined with the clarity of the visuals you get taken in...then......BOOM!!!

I think price is at $70......ticketing systems are still being finalised though in terms of where can tickets be bought outside of the theatre if they still decide to do that.

Update so far..
by IMAX Trinidad on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 1:49pm

Hi DIGICEL IMAX Fans (especially for you)

We know you have been waiting patiently.

Team IMAX has been working very hard to finish all the construction works and HR Planning . We have been training our staff to offer premium customer service and trying to put the finishing touches. However, we have been challenged with the legal issue that has occurred between HCL, our landlord and the Mayor of Port of Spain. Over the last few weeks the negotiations have progressed positively however, as we approach the final stretch there is still some red tape to overcome but we are positive it will be resolved in a few weeks. We will announce the opening date to you, when we are absolutely past all of these hurdles.

We deeply appreciate your patience and continued support of the first IMAX in the Caribbean.

I agree. Any pics from the back row? Those seats look like neck breakers. Every IMAX cinema I've gone to has the seats stacked and an aggressive gradient to account for the fact that you are looking at a HUGE screen.

Something like this:
Image

No wonder people getting a headache. I bet it'll be difficult to take in anything that's moving fast on the screen. You should be far enough away from the screen such that you should only have to move your eyes...you shouldn't have to turn your head to look at sections of the screen.

^^ Single ginormous screen

Seats a bit tighter than MT, the IMAX 3D blows the current 3D out of the water. I found fast moving scenes in the trailers not as smooth as they should have been though. Maybe that's just me.

As for the closeness to the screen, i was thinking the same as above that i would have to move my head around but once it started, its a different experience. I swear some portions of the 3D effect were closer to me than the row in front.

^^ invite only.

Trust me.... the Imax experience is TOTALLY worth it.

Other Imax goodies like Hubble 3D and James Cameron's Monsters of the Deep 3D - wowowowowow.

Add to the above, the parking area is brightly lit but some areas are pretty narrow so take care when navigating that you don't drag on a pillar turning a corner. Had a jam with everyone trying to leave at the same time so that may be cause for concern.

Yeah leaving after the movie is a problem, mostly because, as is norm, everyone wants to leave the same time..

Leo... I swear the hubble was sitting on the head of the person infront of me... Amazing.
Would love to see entire thing.

Hope there really aint no friggin guntas when the thing actually open!
