PSA for Public Service Announcements, not Public Services Association!
At the end of those 90s cartoons, they used to have a snippet with the characters talking about a certain message. Sometimes they used to be good, sometimes they got ridiculous.
But they were always well-meaning. They also had those small ads on local TV that played those small skits. "Daddy! Daddy! What did you bring home! *deep voice* AIDS..." Honestly, some of those things kind of frightened me when I was small. Thinking back on it, it's kind of disappointing they never went more in-depth with any of the problems.
Kind of disappointing also that stuff like this doesn't air in between shows anymore:
Cartoons nowadays don't have these things. I'm thinking because they didn't work? Now they're mostly parodied, for e.g. The GI Joe PSAs. What do you think?
i c ur new here & nice view with d do good messages but d subject of old time cartoons has been beaten to death many times b4 in multiple threads .....

there was also one about child abandonment........i barley remember what it was about and i only remember seeing it about 3 times on tv in the early 90's........
i think these ads came about with the drastic change in society around that time......drugs became very prevalent, and with that, teen-sex and alcohol consumption went up.....and with those, domestic violence increased as well....... i guess it was an attempt to try to get it in the minds of the youth, what was wrong and what was right. there were also the ones that were for general safety. ........if they actually worked is subjective.
Yesss, thank you. Get High, Get Stupid, Get AIDS. Was trying to remember that slogan! I remember the child abandonment one. The parents left the children in the road by a forest or something and drove off. That was scary. There was also one where this boy had a lollipop and it fell on the ground and then he picked it up and put it back in his mouth.
Next scene: Ambulance is rushing to his house, lol. They overdo it to the point where it couldn't be taken seriously.
But yeah, the stuff like the David Rudder music video was good sheit back in the day.
