Capacitor and resistor on Tweeter?

I need some help on how to connect my mids
I have this tweeter

to put parallel to this speaker

the guy in the store said to put this resistor

and this capacitor

but i am seeing where some people say capacitor alone........what should i do?

The resistor would attenuate the tweeter. Try with and without the resistor connected. Go with which sounds best to you.
More than likely the tweeter would be more sensitive than the midrange thus the tweeter may sound louder than the mid without the resistor connected.

Definitely use the cap, which acts as a simple 6db/octave filter.

The resistor would attenuate the tweeter.

It will also increase the cutoff frequency (which is dependent on both the capacitance AND the resistance), compared to just using the capacitor alone. If the guy said to use both, use both, as too low a cutoff frequency can lead to a damaged tweeter.

what amp are you running to the speakers??? i'd suggest u run it active off the amp with either the internal amp x-over or an added cross to filter the freqs

if possible run it off 2 seperate amps or a larger 4 ch

3.3uF on a 8ohm tweeter is about 6k.
A resistor is used to tame the output of the tweeter or in this case, to reduce the power going to it because its fed off the same large signal as the midbass.

A 12db filter might be a better choice though.
