Guys,

The ICE Club will be having its first ever SQ Finals.

The location is at MK's Last Car Show for the year at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.
We start at 8:30am, and close off at 11:30am. You can stay to enjoy the car show after.

This will be a Sound Quality competition, similar to what we have done at test and tunes throughout the 2011 season. This formal competition format is what we intend to do throughout the 2012 season. We will have handouts at the event with more information.

The costs to compete are:
$50 - ICE Club Member
$100 - non Member.

CASH PRIZES WILL BE WON:
1st place - $300
2nd place - $150
3rd place - $75

There will be point deductions for tardiness. Reach for 8.30am.

There will be four (4) classes of competition, based on your comp experience.

If there is only 1 person in a class, they will qualify for the 3rd place prize. If there are only 2 persons in a class, they will qualify for the 2nd and 3rd place prizes.
The 1st place prize is only won for a class with 3 competitors or more.

What audio will be used in the judging process, and where can a competitor obtain a copy of it? Additionally, the liner notes section of the rules are blank. Where can I find this information?

So if there is one person in a class it will actually cost the competitor $25 (assuming non member) to "win" his class

I am now looking to build a small system,and just finding $300 so funny as one RCA cable will cost $300 or more.
But I guess it more abt competing and bragging rights than prize money.

It's never about the prize money. There are several competitors that will spend upwards of $300 for some wire terminals. However, the ICE club is the first to offer cash prizes for SQ, since I started competing.

Section 6.1.2 of the IASCA Rule Book:
"Competitors must be a first year competitor in car audio competition, whether with IASCA or any other sanctioning organization."

Rules looks good for an initial draft. Further clarification into the scoring may be necessary. (e.g. what's a 10 compared to a 7).

I'm willing to compete with the stock Mercedes Audio 20 system.

basically rookie class in iasca is for the individual who has never competed in an sq event and is a true rookie at it

once you have some experience it will not be fair to be competing against someone with absolutly no experience

The tracks chosen are very popular ones, and can be sourced through the way you'd get normal material.

USB and iPod available too, but as mentioned in the rulebook, points may be lost as audio quality may be degraded with the USB and iPod sources.

Prizes
1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given to competitors of each class at the events. If there is only 1

● be the leader in points for his or her class.

For this event, everyone qualifies for the prizes, member or not.
The only difference between member and non-member are the competition fees and the points awarded for being a member.
