12 ft span is pretty small. BBFL Consultants is another good structures firm to add to his list. Maybe you can get rory pholourie to do it for you if he is R.Eng as a private job (PJ). It will be a lot cheaper than to go through "the Engineering firms" but bear in mind if you go that way you don't get the benefit of professional indemnity insurance, if something were to go wrong.
