The article

More than 30 local drag racing teams leave today for the third annual St Lucia Drag Wars carded to take place over the weekend. The event entitled The Redemption is scheduled to come off at the base in Vieux Fort, St Lucia. Competition in 15-seconds to 9-seconds brackets and open class races will see street and full-bodied race cars from T&T, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis and St Lucia. Couva Drag Racer Jagdeo Seecharan, 48, who heads the Mad Cow racing team, says he hopes to break the record for the fastest street car in the region with his RB25 powered Datsun.

Seecharan said he intends to compete in the quarter of a mile drag in just over nine seconds. He said the 1976 model Datsun is an insured street legal car and may be the fastest in the region in that category. Seecharan spent over $800,000 on the car by means of modification and has so far hit the quarter mile run in ten seconds at the Camden airstrip. Seecharan, who holds the local tyre-burnout title, said he planed to smoke the tracks in St Lucia. Seecharan said he planed on running a Nissan Skyline powered by the RB26 powerplant to take titles in the 12-second category. Also competing from T&T would be five motorbike teams.

what happened to the supra though?

supra has a V8, thats basically its problem

on that run, he had a problem when he injected the nitrous
nothing was damaged

he did go after and make a couple passes but did not want to re run the s14

i think he did some 10sec passes

s14 now has THIRTEEN 9second passes

the time is official yes....

in competition no.... just as if you entered the 10sec bracket but u did 9.8....
the 9.8 doesnt mean your car didnt do it, it just means u broke out on that run and lost the competition....but u did clock a 9 sec time

Event passed very nice. Would not be complete without the usual Trini drama.
I think i saw Cow do a late 10 sec pass. Dont hold me to that. I had a couple beers :lol:

Heard he made everyone's car get detained when they returned to Trinidad because he took it upon himself to drive off the port before immigration/cid-chassis nos got to check the cars. SMH.
The Sledgehammer had some crazy runs. Mc Intyre can drive no doubt about it. Had a near miss against Sparky and someone else cant remember now.
I believe Sparky broke his gearbox
Flambo did a 8 sec pass i believe also
The usual driveshaft issues from various cars etc etc..
My fav run was Nastyness 9.3 run against a GSX-R 1000. Management and Air Shift (9.7)
Vibes was nice. Have couple crap pics while on the port waitin to offload the bikes

cow actually did a 10.4 against boost factory when the s14 did the 9.1 sec run
its the last of the s14 clips in the video.

the closest run was the s14 and alan's mustang: 9.5 & 9.6
