Material Costing

Postby juicyJ » May 21st, 2012, 6:58 pm

tuner need some advice was planning to do some construction, just wanted to know what hardware in central is the cheapest e.g steel avg about 6tons,blocks,cement etc. Stuff for a foundation and a decking. Anyone had any experience with ABEL or Tap when it comes to purchasing blocks?

go online and sign up for an ansa mcal card .. it will allow u discounts/contractor pricing on all blocks, windows and paint.
go to steel manufacturers like bhagwansinghs and trinrico .. i'd suggest u get a phone book and keep it close by ... they are giving it away free all over .
cement u could either look for a closeby h/ware or someone u can establish a relationship where u can get on a as needed basis instead of buying by the pallet and having wastage occur

Ramlagan's Hardware in Balmain sells reasonable ... I compared their prices with about 6 other hardwares and 90% of the stuff I needed when I was building my house was cheaper at Ramlagans ...
