what are the characteristic of a good bass amp to power eight 18's in eaw sb850 subs , i am shoping for an amp and don't want to make a bad buy can some one help me ..

Do some reading on damping factor, you would want an amp with a decent damping factor to drive that many subs.

Warranty coverage or availability of parts is another thing I'd look out for.

some common sense too ,
I try to stay away from manufacturers who don't have good online documentation for their stuff
try to find as much online reviews as possible



but most pro amps should be good, besides Pyle idk anyone else who amps overated

honestly use multiple amps for that load..

impedance rise from 8 coils could be a reall beyotch!

I think it would be better to use 2 amps rather than 1.
You can check out;
Crown vz 5000
Crown xti 4000 or 6000
Qsc rmx 5050 or 2450
American Audio v4000 or v5000 or v6000

None of them will disappoint you!
*I have never used the xti series! but I have seen them in action.
